The divine right is in the bloodline. Monarchies have always had the opinion they were divine &, who can blame them? They are bestowed with immense power & wealth without having to lift a finger.
You do realise that the Queen of England cannot rule by divine right?

I dunno if being respected is better than being feared...in sometimes I think it is better to be feared..because fear weakens..and respect is alll you can get and you can easily get disrespected....

If uhh that is the type of answer ur lookin 4..

Good god will u now be quiet?

U can play with definitions all u want - i went on what the term meant and how the term is used, please can we leave it?
Man, don't think I don't know what I myself posted.

Just because there is no reference in that Act or in official statements does not mean this idea does not manifest itself in an active capacity.

Take the word 'ken'. Now in a bunch of places 'ken' is another word for 'know'. In Glasgow, however, this is not the case & thus, the word is not naturally used here.

Just because it is not used here though, does not stop me from recognizing that 'ken' = 'know'.

In other words, just because they don't refer to me as a 'subject', does not mean that I can't look for myself & put 2 & 2 together.....& get 4 before you make a snide remark.

made u are playing with semionics here, if u think u are a subject - fine, cool, fantastic. If u think Divine Right means anything other than a relation to god, and furthermore only answerable to god...cool mate....carry on really!

You have in my eyes changed your argument so much that nothing i say could possibly make a difference! happy hunting!

I thought we had finished, no?

OK.

Are we are we not, subject to Her Majesty? Law & all?

Do you think this makes us 'subjects'? Well, I do. There is no contradiction here, just misunderstanding.

And if you don't think this makes us 'subjects', then like I said, fine, it is a matter of perception.

And that would be, ye' ken?

We are subjects of the majesy, however i don't think we no longer regard the notion of being subjects as highy as we once did. We are subject to her laws. Yet she is simply a face to the baeurocracy. She doesn't hold power to govern like she once did. Or rather the monarchy once did

if u cant see the obvious contradiction fine...all still stands we were trying to get at a different point...but u werent saying it all that well!

The term was repelled in an 1981 law, check the last page...he even posted the artical.

Rukas is right, if you guys ever read Machiavelli's The Prince it seems too obvious that to be feared is better than to respected. But it all depends on the perception one has.
