Time to move on? My thoughts as a pac fan. Please read.

i feel you in some points man, in terms of the excitement not being there anymore when something new comes out. but the fault is not ours, not the fan's fault it's the shitty industry and ofcourse the source which is the people who have total control over 'Pac's material.

but unlike you i still like being a 2pac fan, i have fun and enjoy it because unlike the younger people and the new generation who listens to garbage today, i know how it was before and what decent music was.

It's like a new relationship you meet someone and you find out new things everyday about that person and eventually you know everything, so that feeling of new gets old.
I dont listen to my Pac CD's so much anymore but when I do it's great because you havent heard the same thing yesterday. I found that the best thing to keep me into the music is listen to other artists, and that doesnt mean listen to the mainstream but artists that had similar views and content as Pac such as Nas, Mos Def, Talib Kweli or Immortal Technique. Or music from the same era that Tupac was around in, like the early 90's to Mid 90's.
Also if you havent already start getting into the education of Pac (Some people find this a bit obsessive but its real interesting) read books he read and you'll understand what made Tupac and it'll help you grow as a person too.
Those are some of the things I've done to get through these rough times, and like someone said every now and then something great comes out of Amaru and those times are worth waiting for.
Also concerning this forum, you have some members who come on here to crack jokes and hope that somebody quotes them. The intelligent topics are few but like I said above worth waiting for.

yea, its sad to say but im the same too. i throw in the occasional song maybe once a month. before, Pac was my religion. now im 20, going through different emotions than before i guess. i will still get a tattoo of his name to keep him alive but apart from that, i rarely even listen anymore.

i will not however forget that his music helped me through some difficult times and for that i am truly grateful.

I know this is an old ass topic but it interested me and i wanted to have my say so its ^^UP^^ lol

I feel the thread starter, ive been a Pac fan for 5 years now and yeah it does get a little tiring sometimes, from like January-August this year i RARELY listened to Pac which is crazy for me, I think i just got burned out from his music, i mean, who can listen to California Love all the way through without skipping to the next track?? or How Do You Want It?? or Changes?? ive head Pac's songs sooooooooooooooooo many times its unreal lol...but you know, i am a "Pac Head" deep down and i soon came back to listening to him again, I know deep down ill never stop listening to Pac but i will become bored of it sometime, how many times can you listen to the same song?? Damn i remember when i was like 14 and id play Pac NON STOP all day LONG lol, those were the days!

i agree... i think its the fact that a big pac fan will play his songs so much that eventually over the years they will get played out and lose that 'special' watever they had to them..
most of the songs i can't 'feel' in the same way but ill always be a pac fan and bump his music

if u are a true pac fan then u will never go away from pac for too long. shit its only human do not want to listen to pac over and over, day in, day out, it grows repeatative and just plain boring. but once u start listening to other artists u began to listen to other artists u really understand how u cant go without listen to a pac song, u get the pac craving if u will. a real pac fan can only take so much of other peoples crap (music). i feel a real pac fan can see straight through the club bangers and all of those songs specifically made to stick in ur brain to make someone else a fat paycheck. once ur brain can take no more of the other worthless material a great deal of other rappers are putting out u then turn back to pac. u turn pac to pac because ur craving something real, someone that flows like no one else on this planet, and someone that earns ur respect.

there are only a few rappers that seperate themsleves from the rest of the pack like pac did so it is only a matter of time before ur back, checking for some pac material u have never heard before

I have been listening to pacs music for eleven years and it never gets old. Do I get tired of it? Yes I do but thats with any artist. Don't let yourself miss out on all the great music out there. There are alot of immature kids around here that start beef and ask stupid questions but dont let it bother you just ignore them. Alot of people here have alot of intellegent and meaningful things to say. Your just burnt out right now. It happends to all of us. Just listen to other music, there is so much out there I cant even keep up. Also, visit the other sections of the board, not just the life, I just recently started coming back in here. I guarentee though eventually you will go back to listening to pac again and you will get the excitement back as you had before. If I still get that feeling after eleven years. I know its possible. Nice thread.

I feel ya Twirlzy, I've been there 2 a little over a year or so, but the excitment came back in a couple of months and I was hyped again and I am still. The releases like LTTG dissapoint me and the treatment of Pac's legacy but I know he was and is still the truest, despite all this bullshit and no other rapper shines like him even 9 years after his death.
The thing that made me really happy was this thing that happened to me a month ago. I'm from Croatia and people from all over the world visit Split (my hometow) and this is what happened: I played 2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted real loud in my car and a couple of guys from USA came up to me smiling and telling me they can't believe that I listen to 2Pac because they are fans of his too. It was a great feeling to meet a 2Pac fan from another part of the world.

Keep ya head up Twirlzy!
