This new 2face album kinda reminds me of the makaveli record

For the few fans on this site that remeber when makaveli came out dosent this kinda got that feel to it. Both records seemed to fly under the rada and come out of no where and fast. I remeber bac in like 96 when pac dropt makaveli people was just realy still geting over his death then he dropped makaveli

I mean even dante didnt really see this 1 coming. I have a feeling that this is gonna be a classsic pac record. I just cant see rap a lot records and scarface putting out some bullsh*t there is no way possible. I guess we can expect videos singles the whole nine yards

It looks like its tupac season again Makaveli lives on ....

if the posted tracklisting is legit, then it's not so hard to imagine why it flew under the radar.

a 10 year old with amazon.com and limewire could have made the album according to the tracklisting.

that cant be the tracklist because amaru records would have been in the mix. I honestly think that when pac was fuken wit scarface that they went to the studio and banged out at least 7 or 8 quality tracks. I mean the song smile is tupac at his best. I mean the fact that fatal hussein, the outlaws and big syke all went to rap alot following tupacs death is evidence that there was a relationship.

I rember reading a interview with mike dean and he even said that he did a couple songs with pac and smile was one. and even in interviews suge always mentioned scarface.

But yeah bac in the day i member the makaveli album just came out of no where no real promotion, the outlaws didnt push the album or nothing. All they would say is that its spose to be a pac and outlaws album coming one nation and makaveli, I know im rambling but im getting flashbacks of that time

dante was kadafi alive when makaveli came out

Actually, it makes more sense that it is the true tracklist, because all those 2Pac tracks on that album are ones that were released under the death row name. Death row still has the rights to the songs that were released on All Eyez On Me and 7 Day Theory, thus making it possible for them to remix them to poo or re-release them on compilation records.

What makes you think a mixtape will be a classic Pac record with singles and videos.

This seems very likely....as I stated in another thread, the idea that there is no tracklist from Rap-A-Loat, no single and limited advertising means that the tracklist is indeed real or they are going to be sued by Amaru after this release.

As long as its better than Son Rize (I really hated that mixtape/release/whatever) then im happy. Sorry Candyman but the hype surrounding the mixtape and the potential it had to be great was enermously let down. I know alot of people felt it, so something good did come out of it.

I reckon though that Afeni has authorised them to go ahead and do an album, maybe after listening to the fans about the last release (i wont mentione the name again.....loyal 2 tha game....DOH!) she wants to make it up a little.

Its the nearest thing to what Pac fans wanted, and its advertised quite openly in magazines - all we need now is a couple of video's and were in business!

Unless im mistaken - all i heard were the words 2pac, scarface, and album and i drawed the fastest conclusion.

Peace, westside, outlaw, deathrow ....( ok i'll shut up now ) ...(Dork)

Scarface wouldn't have waited this long to put out material with Pac, that'd be considered classic.
But the point is that Scarface was never in a position to decide - so Afeni must of given him some consent to go ahead and do this more recently. He had a concept, he told her about it - she agreed. Why else would rap-a-lot advertise soo freely in a magazine? Scarface respects the Estate so he for sure aint involved in no 2pac bootleg -

Even if its recycled lyrics from a past album, if they bring new life to them then mission accomplished.

Peace

If Afeni gave the go-ahead on the album, then it most definitley would have a connection to Amaru, and her name would have been all over it (she would love to take credit for a great album). The interesting thing is that there was no promotion for the album until Suge filed bankruptcy, and he is one of the executive producers and it is being released on Rap-A-Lot. Everything surrounding the album is very suspicous. I can't understand how Afeni would let new material be released, but I didn't understand why she let Suge release it as well i.e. Thug Nature, Friends, Who Do You Believe In? and Late Night. I think that Suge Knight was granted X amount of songs and knowing his financial situtation he has held on to them and released garbage like Nu Mixx. Now that Death Row is no longer under his control, he may be able to get paid by having Rap-A-Lot release them. He gets paid in cash and doesn't report the income, therefore he has money in his pocket and the courts can't take it. Suge is a sly fellow and the idea that he may have controlled the songs and not Death Row seems very believable.

I see what you mean, but consent is different to affiliation. She gave consent for it to go ahead, but saw no reason for her to be affiliated with it. She will take a cut no matter what because Pacs name is now a registered trademark, so the estate will get paid with or without her name all over it. This is just one of the many projects they have lined up for Pac.

Peace

I can understand that she gets paid on trademark value, but the idea still remains that Suge may be holding songs that have yet to be released, and if he has total control over the songs then no consent would be needed from the Estate. I don't believe that the Estate has any hand in this project and that it will either be more crappy remixes or it will be unreleased material. And looking at the aforementioned songs they might actually be released in original form.

My understanding is that Afeni has control of everything released offically under 'Pacs name, and Suge does not have any sole-ownership of any unreleased music. Plus the fact the company's now in receivership, he only gets royalty payments from All Eyes On Me and Makaveli. NU Mixx Classics was the closest he got to releasing a 'Pac album solely by himself, and even then Afeni had a cut for the estate. Unless anyone can correct me, this is what I know about that whole situation from numerous articles.

I wish we hear some unheard material too - but looking at it from a wider angle shortens the chance of that happening. Definitly we can expect a Smile remix, and if im right in believing, this was one of the remixes left off from Nu Mixx classics. Or was that just a rumour?

Peace

^ Hard to really say.... Here is what I can gather:

Afeni can release ANYTHING of 2pac. If she really wanted to she could rerelease another AEOM or DK7. Suge, on the other hand, can only release tracks that Death Row ALREADY released (AEOM, DK7, and the soundtracks etc.) The only hole through that theory is a few tracks like on too gangsta and chronic 2000 etc.

If thats the case, here are my 4 theorys on the 2FACE cd:

1. The tracklist is real with the same shit we all have.

2. The tracklist is real. However, they will be remixed (Such as Hail Mary will have a new Scarface verse or two and will have a new beat. And vice versa with the Face tracks).

3. The tracklist is fake. We will get basically a new Scarface cd with 2pac verses added in from songs from AEOM and DK7 etc. on each track

4. The tracklist is fake and we will hear a brand new 2pac/Face cd with mostly unreleased songs they did together before he died. I FIND THIS INCREDIBLY DOUBTFUL. If that were the case, Afeni WOULD be involved.

These are just my thoughts.

The tracks from the soundtracks, Too Gangsta 4 Radio, Chronic 2000, Againist The Grain are all reasons I believe that Suge was given a a certain number of songs. 2pac was under contract and I don't see how he would get screwed out of songs that he is owed. This being said I seem to think that he is still holding. The fact that Suge Knight is mentioned on this album, leads to believe that it is recycled garbage or the idea that he has a few songs locked away and he sold them for cash.
