The Official Fuck Ashanti Thread For Sampling Blasphemy!!

#21
i really don't get why it's wrong to sample 2Pac's work, but it's not wrong to sample other artists. Pac used samples all the time, most producers use samples, it's a staple of the industry. i mean would you think a Prince fan would be out of line to get mad over Pac's sampling of his music over the years? cuz he would have that right based on this argument. Pac's music was good, which is why so many artists want to sample it. i see it as a sign of respect for the man, that they appreciate his music enough to sample it. you may not like the song, but any artist has the right to sample Pac's work or anyone else's work.

on point... i was about to post something like that, but looks like u got to it first.. good job.

Hip Hop is filled with people sampling shit. Whether its stuff by other rappers or others musicians, hip hop is filled with samples. Whether producers use certain loops or artists sample choruses, its been done on millions of songs... I think sampling is a sign of respect, and a way to bring back a popular flavor, and breaking it down and remixing it, and re-presenting it to an audience.

I understand it gets annoying sometimes when some1 ruins something classic. But maybe some musicians or fans thought the same when pac or Pac's producers sampled something.

Oh my f**kin' god this song is so corny. She even re-sings the "ooo, oooo, oooo" from the background track of pac's.

It's aight to sample. I just get mad when pac gets sample and then the listener will be like damn, that's a tight song, without knowing it. I played the instrumental of Ambitionz Az A Ridah for my big homie and he said, "Oh shit! U got dat Lil Wayne instrumental!" (Wayne has a track on that beat) Didn't even acknowledge that was Pac and Daz original song. You know how heated I was when I tried to prove him that was a Pac song?! These artist really gotta givin' props to tha OGs in this rap game

do you know how many times i've heard the same thing said to me by people who hear me listening to a rap song that samples a song from say, the 70's. they're like, "man this guy didn't make this song, it was a hit back in the day" or some shit like that. i'm willing to bet there are at least a few Prince fans who have heard the OG's of songs like Pac's Life or Thugs Get Lonely Too and feel the same way you do about his work being used. so it works both ways

u dont have any idea how many pac fans listen to "bring da pain" by meth, and think he ripped it off "No More Pain"... And to me thats worst, cuz the 2 releases were only 2 years apart. I understand some fans being ignorant of pac's work, cuz alot of these fans got into hiphop like 2-3 years ago. They just dont know any better. Pac and alot of really well respected artists in hip hop have sampled alotta shit, and most of the times we dont know any better. Cuz we grew up listening to pac n shit, and now the artist comin out are sampling them. But ppl like Pac, Biggie, Wu, grew up in a different era of music and they sample other shit. Watch 15 years from now ppl will start sampling 50 Cent, and the Game... Its just what they grew up off.

Nothing wrong with sampling Pac, but the song just sucks. And Ashanti and her camp are really lacking talent, because every song she puts out is jacking somebody's beat

Ashanti just sampled Blasphemy and featured Jim Jones on the song and called it, "I Won't Deny It". I never heard the song but from some comments I read, I'm hearing ass or whatever. I didn't even bother.

I'm tired of all these current artists taking classic original 2Pac songs and s**tting all over it. Classic songs need to be left alone. Is the Makaveli album going to be stripped and remade before the century is over. All of the man's standout songs are becoming hits for people like Cam'ron & Jay-Z. Hail Mary, Me & My Girlfriend, Now Blasphemy. Maybe I'm overreacting but I'm pissed.

Whenever artists are thrown on a track with Pac, it's like they feel they can just sample or redo his work. From 50, Ja, Tyrese, Nas. and now Ashanti. It's more I'm even forgetting I think. I'm just sick of this.

When I finally bother to listen to the track, I better hear Pac's voice or at least a reference to him on this remake.
Fuckin' Pathetic View!! - One of the stupidest comments ive heard in a long time. Dont even defend yourself, wait 3 years and look back at what you wrote cuz it smells kid!

And like dude said before, Pac sampled Bring da Pain from Wu, now tell me that shit wasnt a classic already before 'Pac sampled it? Makes me angry that people as ignorant as you listen to music in the first place! Aint nobody trying to replace 'Pacs classics you dumb shit.

(Sorry for the negative comments, but you really wound me up with your post)
