Oh wait, so it's funny to maliciously hurt an animal for no reason at all, but when I make a joke about lynching ni**ers, suddenly it's not funny anymore?

It's got nothing to do with race. If the people kicking the cat were fat, I'd say the horriblest things about fat people. If I saw a Moroccan youth on the streets kicking the cat I'd yell at him for that, if they were purple I'd yell at them for that, if they wear glasses and have horrible teeth I'd yell at them for that.
If I'm pissed, I'm not going to weigh my words and see if they could cause offense. And especially not vs. people that think this type of animal abuse is funny.

I'm only talking about the two guys in the .gif. I'm not saying we should lynch ALL of them. If they were Mexican, I'd advocate drowning them in the Grande, if they were Jews I'd advocate shipping them off to Sobibor and if they were Yugo's I'd advocate for them to be ethnically cleansed.

The actuality of the gif, it was fucked up. It was sick and disgusting that they would kick an animal. But at the same time, it was funny. It was funny because it was unexpected. It was someone petting a cat and then all the sudden it was kicked like a football. That was funny. Does that mean it also can't be sick and twisted and disgusting? No. It was both. It was funny and it was plain wrong.
Just like watching someone get kicked in the balls. I would never want that to happen to someone (subtracting extreme cases) nor would I want that to happen to me. But if I (or anyone) saw a gif of it, they would probably laugh. It would be wrong, but it'd be funny. It'd be sick, twisted and disgusting for the person to do it, but the gif would be funny. Bcuz it would be unexpected.
