Swizz did his job!!

Guys, Swizz was asked to make a club banger obviously, something to get you pumped. And thats exactly what he accomplished, he did what not ONE person could do on LTTG, make a decent fucking beat/mix. Rather than what seemed like table scraps, or left over beat material, Swiss gave us some hot shit here.

Pac's flow may not be exactly on point to the beat, but neither is it completely off. And finally we have a single with artists pac actually worked with, well besides Swizz, who actually did his thing. So instead of complaining try to enjoy it.

A good club beat and an appearance of a guest that Pac worked with doesn't make the song good, does it?

Comparing this song to songs on LTTG is accomplishing what exactly?

Mediocre sync of the flow is okay?

We should just try to enjoy it because it's Pac?

I really don't have a problem with the song because I have zero expectation and I have no real interest in the "new" Tupac album. But one thing I must say is - Krayzie singing "it's tupac tupac tupac" makes it seem like a fucking circus.

Who cares if Pac worked with the person if the song still blows donkey choad? Especially considering it's a song that had enough lyrics to be a Pac solo.

And this beat is nothing special.

there are many other "club" songs that have remained unleaked or not known as their og forms that would have been successed. still ballin was a club song, untouchable wasn't.

They used one verse of Untouchable to make a political song like Killuminati and a club song like this new one.Whats it called?

That doesnt make sense.

I just heard the song for the first time right now.. i think its okay.. nothing special, but alright.. the mixing with the beat wasn't 100% on, but the beat was pretty solid.. I just read on wikipedia that a bunch of shitty, mainstream artists were going to be guests on this album such as chamillionaire and T.I. i sure as hell hope not.. but its afeni shakur and its all about the money and the mainstream now.

Man, I just heard the song, wtf is everybody crying for? It's not that bad, compared to the crap that gets played on the radio everyday, it's actually pretty tight...

Y'all must be listening to hard or something, relax...

I meant it's not as bad as you guys makes it out to be, I think it's tight, especially now after hearing it more than once...

Am I the only one who listens to hip hop radio, this is a nice break from all the "laffy taffy's" or that "hyphy movement" nonsense.

exactly

in my opinion he did a good beat, Pac's flow is good but they just don't fit to each other. Plus it looks like Swizz spent all his time on making beat. He haven't thought about doing some serious chorus, Bone too. Maybe they thought it's too much for them and under pressure they left the song as it was because it seems incompleted to me. On the other hand beat sound too forced with all those horns etc. That's just my opinion

We're Pac fans so we're his best critics also. Knowing it comes out from Pac this song is on way too low level

Think about this:

"Maybe Afeni is releasing this crap not only to sell, but because she IS GONNA RELEASE THE O.G. set later, so the tracks in this releases(UTEOT, BD, LTTG and now PL ) have to be very different from the O.G.s" !!!

It´s like if she releases the songs in OG format, there wont be any material left for the OG set release?

Maybe...

i hope it's the same as "loyal to the game" with g-unit last time.
It was first song off the album that was played on the radio, but wasn't a single.

i'll give him the fact that the instrumental is pretty good, and i think that it's a perfect match for the bone vocals. the problem i have with it is that it's much too "too glocks" sounding from that disaster that dj vlad and company put out (yet was hailed as the best mixtape of the year lol). you can take any 2pac vocal and throw it on a beat and have a new guest verse - but can you make them seem seamless and integrated? therein lies the challenge.

you're 100% on the money with respect to the hooks. i could probably actually enjoy this song if not for these horrible hooks. digital chopping is so amateurish that not even n00bs in the mixemup forum pull that shit. look at still ballin - an arguably questionable pairing of trick daddy and pac (likely on the sole basis of trick's random hits and the fact that pac said "trick" in homeboyz) but somehow it worked. why? because while pac's hooks were altered, they did a trade lines style with trick daddy so it all made sense. it was a successful duet and not two random verses sewn together because both artists are cool. if swizz can't even swing that, i'm sure any random turbtablist would have been happy to lay some free scratching hooks instead of that my-first-casio-with-a-mic-to-make-vocal-samples crap job.

can you tell i hate the shit out of the hooks?

i'll be the first to admit a bias toward og or og vibe, but sometimes we cannot our discontent. in a way, we the dedicated and knowledgeable fans have a duty to let the casual listener know how much more is out there. imagine yourself being a best buy / sam goody pac fan. you see a new album on the new releases shelf and you buy it. you have no idea about the endless og scene online. imagine the incredible amount that you're missing. i understand why amaru frowns on the og's, but really, they are what kept the constant interest in pac in 97-99 ("is he alive? where are these coming from?!?! how much is left?") and they offer a unique chance to see the music in the original spirit as it was made. sure, everything they owe og might be a bit dull, but the significance of a johnny j recycled beat and the simple, unpolished delivery and structure help pac fans learn more about the song more than a remix could ever teach.

the og set release is a rumor that comes and goes, and has never been explicitly proven to be a real plan. the simple fact is that with every release that the original collaborators are dissed on, the more reluctant they will be to sign off when it comes time to release an og. likewise, i think that a lot of people on this board think that amaru knows everyone who has done the music with pac and it's all one big happy family, but i can tell you this much... i have actually served in an indirect consultant to locate the contact information for a lot of people one might think amaru had long standing relationships with. imagine that. ...so then if amaru doesn't have all these people onboard now, won't it be a little rough say 2 years from now? food for thought.

very true. for bd, still ballin was shipped as the lead song, but it was never sold as a single of course. what is sent to radio and dj markets for promotion and not offered as a single to the retail sector. such may be the case here, and then the single will be a more amaru-typical song that is softer and more thug angel-esque.

I feel like Pac fans have become so desparate for some new material that they force themselves to like anything.

It's like people are reaching. How low can you lower your standards as a 2pac fan and say you like this song? I let some teens that don't really listen to 2pac listen to the song and the "this shit is wack as fuck". The most I got was "it's alright" with a funny face in addition. An average person reacted like that. So now I know for a fact, that people on here who say this crap is good just forces themselves or either has bad taste. Let me also mention, the majority of people do not favor swizz's production. No one that I know appreciates his work and he's been criticized and scrutinized by artists and even radio djs.

And to say this song is better than anything that Em made for lttg is a complete overexaggeration and a joke. Sure Eminem didn't do a good job on most of the lp, but he made quite a few songs listenable and did a good job on some. This song in no form can compare to Black cotton, uppercut, soldier like me, who do you love, thugz get lonely too, nigga.

So I feel the exaggerations needs to stop.
