I don't know who sings the chorus on the Snoop and 2Pac version but the original song 'Street Life' is performed by Randy Crawford. BTW this song is featured on the soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown.

i dont think so. Look around the sampled song archieves in FX and look for street life. You'll see. Its either them or Val re-sang it.

It's definitely not the singers from the 70's version, I've heard that plenty of times and the singing and some of the words are different. If I had to guess I'd say it's Val Young or maybe Jewell, she did some singing for Pac too

Very good question, i never really thought about it but i just listened to it and it's definetly Val Young. Listen to her voice, especially the sounds she makes during the song in the background, she does it often, and if you don't believe me listen to other songs where she's featured on.
