Do you keep close track of your spending?

I use Mint. It's a great tool. How much do you spend on alcohol per month? I spent $393 dollars on alcohol last month. Much higher than my average. I've been spending about $200 a month for the last 18 months.

My main expenditure is food and cigarettes. I buy about three to four cartons of cigarettes a month and each at about $18-25 a carton. So $100, tops on stupid shit. Meal plan at the restaurant is $230 for 26 meals. I feel I should be spending less, but as you have clearly shown, I could be doing worse with an alcohol addiction instead of a nicotinic one.

What a waste. You could have spent that on Air Max sneakers instead.
I know, right? But then I'd be sober wearing air maxes and needing copious amounts of alcohol to hide the embarrassment that comes with wearing them. lol. aron-oriented joke

drinks are expensive. wait till you take your nicotine addiction back to Chicago and pay 60-80 a carton.

since i only drink on the weekends, that could be divided by 8 days. which is like 50 bucks a night. which is a pretty small amount for a night. a drink for you and two friends is already 25 bucks.

I don't budget at all. I'd probably have a lot more money if I did, but whatevs. I'll worry about that when I'm like 40 and it's too late to save for retirement, like every other American

I don't really track my spending. But my bank gives me a breakdown of where my money went, how much went in and out of my various accounts etc.

And Coonie - UK prices for Cigs. $15 for 20. Which is 150 a carton, obviously. If we call them the same thing..... Is a carton 200 cigarettes?

I spent $200 on both Friday and Saturday of last weekend. That was only slightly higher than normal. I don't want to know.

I don't consciously control my spendings. I spend the most when going out with girls. Even though I enjoy the idea of cheap dates I dig good food too and occasional new "cool" things. So I spend most cash on food and random trips.

When I feel like I'm spending more than 100$ a week on food, going out and daily things I take note what I did wrong and whether it was worth it. Now I just don't waste money on silly things, even though I pay for cool extraordinary stuff sometimes I can still keep my spending on an ok level, so if I'm able to keep some savings after each month I don't need to write down each spending.

I spend less than 10$ a month on Alcohol on average. Sometimes more, sometimes 0. 10$ here is equal to 2-4 big bottles of vodka or 20 decent beers here. In short, I earn more for an hour of work so I don't feel the need to keep track of my alcohol spendings.

If you guys like drinking a lot for a little money. Skopje, Macedonia (also known as FYROM for uptight Greeks) is a good party/drinking destination at the moment. I haven't been, but that's the word on the street.

You don't feel the need to keep track of your alcohol spending because you ain't spending shit lol not because you have a job. That's like me saying I don't feel the need to keep track of spending on CDs. Well, yeah, cause I barely buy any.

Ten bucks can't get me 20 beers in a hole in the wall "come in unknown and get shot" bar in a village in Bosnia so you must mean the price of beer at a discount store. I doubt you can go to a bar in any part of Warsaw and spend only $30 zlaty on 20 beers.

In all seriousness, once I start working (leave in 4 days) and have a grown-ups income I will be budgeting and tracking my spending like a motherfucker. Not because I'm cheap, but because, well any responsible and independant individual should have a handle on these things. As a student I never really cared becuase I was only pulling in minimal income and living for free at my dads.
