So Sad

I came to work today to find my friend and colleague in tears. She tells me what's up, her friend of 20 y.o. died in her sleep yesterday. I met the girl a couple of times. It was just so sad.

I was looking at the girl's facebook profile a few times, there's a few R.I.P. messages already. I just find it so sad that somebody so young died like that. Unexpected in her sleep.

Dunno I keep thinking about that, it makes me sad. I didn't know the girl that much and if anything she deserved a great life and not such a short one.

Aye, it's tragic but it happens. Like aneurysms and whatnot, undetected, there since birth. It can pop at age 8 or at age 80.

Pretty random way to go.

A lady I worked with died in a similar way, she was feeling a bit "off" for a few days and then one morning just didn't wake up. Her husband was going in for surgery that day. She was in her 50's but unexpectedly losing someone is just as bad.

I didn't know the girl really so I am not personally touched by this, but my friend has been destroyed by this. It's just sad I find dying so soon. But she didn't suffer and I wish that to everybody to die in their sleep

In highschool, this cute girl I used to talk with at times got a rare cancer that affected her liver (she was 17 at the time). She needed to get a transplant, eventually she got one, and she came to the prom without hair, but she wore like a nice hijab thing to cover her head...she looked amazing though.

Anyways, after a year, I heard that her body rejected the liver and she died in her sleep, she was 18. We all decided to go to her grave, there was maybe like 50 of us from that year. It was pretty sad, despite her fucked up ways at times... she had a good heart.

So I can see where you're coming from Carm. All things happen for a reason though... (waits for Seb to nitpick the sentence and start an anti-religion fued lol)

A guy i used to play hockey with died in his sleep about a month ago.

It probably had more to do with the excess alcohol and drugs in his system than some freak accident type shit tho :(

Have no fear, sofi is here!

*hooray*

For me, it's not about religion, I just don't like the idea of saying something tragic happened for a reason for consolation purposes. Personally, if I was grieving for a lost loved one and someone told me it happened for a reason, I just might choke the person out.

If I ever make a post about someone dying close to me, and you tell me it's for a reason, in the words of Liam Neeson, "I will find you, and I will kill you." :D

Well obviously I wouldn't go up to the person and say it. That's just what I believe..

Its not like I'm gonna go up to the person and say: "HEY IM SORRY, BUT IT HAPPENED FOR A REASON"

Cmon now lol

lol.

Edit: Ok, not to destroy a thread like this... Yah, I told Carmi that, but I meant it in the best of ways. It's not like I said: "Oh she deserved to die" ... It's a spiritual thing to say. It was her time to go, and the big man upstairs has his reasons. It's been said to me when I've lost people I cared about, and I didn't get angry cause I knew it was said with the best of intentions.

Also, I don't know Carmi personally or anything about her as a person. If I knew it was something that she would take offense to, I wouldn't say it, but from what I know... she isn't anal, and would know that I mean it in all respects.

Point final. Now laugh at Mr. Dwayne Johnson's face. :)

I feel for you Carmi, my friend Eddie died on Feb 14, 2008, and its just fucked up. He was 32, hard working, out going, and full of life. He was even recording some songs with this group called Spanish Fly for E-Dub, the DJ on pwer 106 "pocos pero locos". His head just started hurting, so he told his brother to take him to the hospital. When they put him on a strecther he looked at his brother, to a breath, and passed on.

Hurts to talk about even now. R.I.P. to Eddie, and to your friend.

I agree with SOFI I wouldn't want someone to say that to me after I just lost someone..
Me neither. But I wouldn't say that to the person after being told that.
But you told carmi that her colleague died for a reason.
It's not my colleague who died.. It's my colleague's best friend who died. Just wanna make that clear. If it was colleague I'd be more saddened.

It's hard to find words to try to make someone feel better about this. I just listen. I suck at those situations. I figure people who lose someone need someone to listen to them. I let it to other people to make them laugh and whatnot.
