So many hip-hop journalism mediums should be ashamed of themselves now.

The fact that Kami and Diaz's tracklist made it to WCRydaz, Streethop, allhiphop, other sites and even the fucking radio show just how pathetic the state of journalism in rap related subjects is. Whatever happened to seriously sourcing shit and looking up the background info before presenting it as pure unadulterated fact?

I guess since it's Tupac news it became so big, and the main flaw was the follow-the-leader mentality that so many places used - "This many sites had this as news so it MUST be true." Right.

Unfortunately it happens the world over, and not just with music.

News outlets are constantly monitoring each other - the TV studios have several plasma screens with the other networks playing 24/7. As soon as a story breaks they'll run with it too. Confirmation of the story comes later; its not as much of a priority as staying up to date and competing with other channels. The BBC is an exception.

Apart from press conferences and press releases a lot of stories stem down to one person, whether it be a reporter or a comment.

Still, making up shit is far worse. I'll never forget the reporter who was reporting 'Live from Iraq' and was found in the broom cupboard of his office.

Obviously I knew it was 90% likely to be false. But I didn't want to say it, incase it did infact turn out to be true. Then we'd have a thread about how stupid StreetHop is.

I have been posting more 2pac news recently. Trying to update daily.
