Just wanted to share some stuff with you guys and also ask for a hand with something.
Firstly, congratulations to Caesar, he finished his degree last year and has been employed in Technology Park in Adelaide, South Australia, which is like a huge computer/IT community of businesses and research labs.
As a result he has had less and less time on the site so I have stepped back into the daily operations of things, although he will continue to help with some coding and will continue to report news as he has been, with the help of Heat and now DJ Tek and a couple others that are coming on board shortly.
Forum wise I am not really happy with the new software and we will be doing a huge move soon, there will be a rather big change, we're completely changing the software and moving away from vBulletin entirely which is what we are currently running. So things will be very different for a while but I believe this is important to do now and I am trying to integrate the main page with the forum a little better (same accounts on both for example) as well as implement some social networking integration. Dont want to talk too much about it, but it is pretty cool stuff.
This is being set up now, and at some point next week VIPs will have access to the new forum exclusively as a sort of beta test. No one else will have access. They will be able to post for a week on the new forum to test things out and then everyone will get access. In the mean time this forum will remain open to everyone else and all posts will be ported over so nothing will be lost.
As far as the main page goes, I think we're one or two bloggers away from really competing with the big sites in regards to how many daily updates we post and how much audio we provide, and rather than trying to scout the net and go through the mass application (a lot of retards who cant spell but want to be cool) process of the past, I'd REALLY like if some people from here would like to write for the main site; especially in light of the upcoming forum/blog integration.
This will also take some pressure off of me as after the forum conversion Jon and I will be diving into the HitEmUp.com restoration.
Send me a PM if you are interested.
