I want to get back at my thieving neighbors for stealing my Netflix movies. I left 3 on top of our mailboxes early one morning when I left for work. I had to come back at lunch time (I usually don't) and they were already gone even though the mail person typically runs in the evening. I double checked my mailbox to make sure. When I got home I had mail. We have a secure entrance so it could only be my neighbors or possibly a maintenance person or the cleaning lady.

It could have been the lady that works 3rd shift. I think we can rule her out since she should have been sleeping around the time the movies were taken.
A gay man with many partners.
2 snooty college girls. They made me cookies when I moved in but they have a lot of visitors and they're loud and obnoxious. One drives an orange car and I hate orange cars so it's probably that one.
An old married couple with a huge dog.
2 other guys that I see regularly but not sure that they live there.

I can't narrow it down enough to confront someone because I totally would. For the record: I am an awesome neighbor. I'm not loud. I rarely have guests. The only way my presence is known is by the awesome foods I cook.

I was thinking about leaving one of the Netflix envelopes out with 2g1c in it. That might be too much effort on my part...I dont know where I would get a copy of that. I'd also have to make sure the culprit picked it up before the mailman. I also thought about leaving a passive agressive note in Comic Sans by the mailboxes but I wouldn't really be satisfied with that.

I would usually not be so upset about this but I lived in not so great neighborhoods for most of my life. Nothing ever got taken from me. Except my bike. Since I've moved here my car has been broken into, my identity stolen and now my mail. At least if something got taken you would know to look for the neighborhood crackhead. Here I have no idea...everyone looks the same. They all smile and wave and chit chat with each other.

seeing to how it's netflix, they might put the movies in the mail after they are done seeing it.

On a real note though:

Tell us the movies and we can see who might have jacked those movies.

I.e. Twilight wouldn't be jacked by a guy. ;)

Shit in a Walgreen's bag and toss it at every house in the neighborhood. Even yours. They won't suspect a thing.

So...you left 3 netflix dvd's on top of your mailbox and you are surprised they got stolen? Really?! It's like leaving a $20 bill on top of your mailbox and expecting nobody to take it. Do what i do with my netflix discs and either personally give them to the mail guy or drop them off at one of the blue mail boxes. *SIGH* women these days!

^Everyone puts their mail up there. Netflix didn't charge me since it happens regularly so from now on I'll just take them to work with me.

@Shadows you can't tell which movies are inside just by looking at the envelope but it was all Martin Scorsese movies: Taxi Driver, The Aviator and Shutter Island.

@PG- great minds ;P

@Artsy & Ruk- it's def orange car girl....she's going down.

I guess I shouldn't mention that my next car will probably definitely be a nice orange.

Sucks about the thievery but at least you don't have to suffer any negative consequences.. except for a distrust of all of your neighbors. But that can be a good thing... since clearly someone is a thief lol.
