In the country you live, is it common to purchase a cell phone number and use pre-paid minutes or do most people have monthly phone plans?

Most people in the UK have prepaid minutes, we call it "Pay-As-You-Go". Its understandable that most choose this option as most people have a low income. However, I really don't understand why people with a decent job still use them. Most of my friends that work spend like £40/£50 a month on credit for their phones and to be honest, you get a shit amount of minutes/texts for that much. I have contract, I pay £37 a month and in return TMobile give me £180 of credit and unlimited internet.

I'm on pretty much the same plan as Gotti, £35 a month for a shitload of minutes and texts and unlimited internet with T-Mobile.

I also agree with him that Pay As You Go doesn't make sense unless you are unemployed. I have friends that work full time jobs and are still on Pay As You Go and I really do not understand why.

I signed for a 3 year deal with Rogers Communications...
I just signed so I can have a cheaper Sony Ericsson... Couldn't have had a dumber idea...

They fuck me up every month... Already had a 220$ bill for a month.

Anyways... I'm done with them in December, gonna go with prepaid minutes.

I had prepaid minutes in Denmark... You just feel free...

Most people I know have monthly plans. You get much more I find with a monthly plan than with prepaid minutes. I used prepaid minutes with my first cell and the only reason why is that my mother wanted to control my cell time.

Well I never go any where near my limit, there is no way I could use £180 credit in a month, so I never pay than more normal £37.

Everyone I know is on a plan. You can get a student plan here which includes 200 any time minutes, unlimited evenings and weekends, unlimited texting, call waiting/id, voicemail, and free browsing for $19.99/month. After taxes and all that shit its 35-40 a month.

Only people I've ever met who bought minutes were the nickel and dime drug dealers (bums).

Yeah we have it. Fido belongs to Rogers though. So they are kinda the same. I don't like Solo plans, I find they don't offer much (belongs to Bell). People have been telling me Koodo is good (belongs to Telus) but I don't know. I'm stuck with Bell for another year so I'll see them.

^Even though fido belongs to rogers they are still better. They don't charge system access fee like solo for example. That's 10 less a month.

Also they have better plans overall. Fido used to be independent and it was awesome but it got too awesome and rogers bought it.

Monthly plans in Canada fucking suck cock. They rip your ass off.

PS: I'm with Rogers, and I feel like a rape victim.
