pulled over by cops with drugs in car

funny story is i own a 91 commodore here in australia and its a V8 ex police pursuit car, and damn we smoked in it all the time. i bet they didn't know the car was gunna be some hoons, doing burnouts smokin weed, dragin people.

also true story it was last new years eve about 11pm me and a few mates had 2 cars parked next to each and we were drinking and shit and 2 undercovers come over because you aren't allowed to drink in public and i had a leatherman knife opened on my car, so his picked it up and shone the torch on it but it was harmless, while the other undercover hit my mate up to search his car(for no reason except the car was full of junk. he basically just throws all his shit in there)
also one of my mates had passed out in the back seat of my car but the cops just thought he was drunk and completely skipped my car and searched my mates parked next to me. they only found a chop bowl and scissors and a bong, so he got dun for that. BUT my mate had an once in the glovebox of my car. damn we were so lucky. to this day i still dont know why they bypassed my car and searched my mates. suckaz. after they found the bong they stopped looking through in my mates car and took him in, if only they also looked back of drivers seat pocket because he had about 3 E's in there.

damn i have to say we were pretty lucky, but would you think that if you found a bong you'd look for the drugs.

cop: you too.

Know your rights and be (somewhat) honest, if you're really in deep shit then don't say anything until your lawyer is present.

I've been caught with different drugs, several times. Including Class A's.

Although I haven't used any drugs (almost) for about 5 years. not regular anyway. I never even received a caution or a court date. too much hassle for the police. I guess it is routine where I used to live. I had a friend who had Heroin on him, and once he told them he was an addict they let him go. Confiscated his shit though.

I was caught once with my friends smokin in the middle of nowhere, when a cop drove up we had a bong already and the weed chopped. Tried to hide it but was no use coz it was so quick. Only got a fine and confiscated the equipment.
Another time my bro got pulled over but they had a stash spot where cops never look under the dashboard, but there was some in the glovebox. So when the cop asked my bro if there were any drugs in the car he said there may be but not much he wasnt sure. But the cop found the little bit and accused my brother of lying, which wasnt good coz my bro is a hot-head so he starts yellin at the cop so he gets put in the squad car. My friends settle the situation by sweet talkin the cop and they get away with a fine and a good amount of weed so the night wasnt ruined.

I agree, although I used to drive in cars with people who were high I dont like to do it anymore. Its no worse than drink driving. It's less hassle to smoke at someones house anyway.

not without a search warrent. They wont search anything unless you say something like; "not without a warrent." But then again, he can say: "ok, give me 20 min."....and oh, he'll make you wait. But if you say nothing about a warrent, they'll search.

Not in the UK. I don't know about US but it sounds a bit dumb needing a warrant.

If they smell the scent of bud they can search you. Anyway it doesnt matter if they illegally search you, they will get away with it.

Probable Cause is all they need. I'm not sure if the cop had it in my case but I think he did because we were smoking a blunt just minutes before getting pulled over and he asked about drugs a few times so I assume he noticed the smell.

yep, when a cop asks if you will let him/her search the car, you CAN say no. If a cop wanted to search your person you can also say no. In order for the cop to search your car/person is 1) you let him/her 2) you're arrested.

They can also bring in the dog and if it smells something on you or in your car you have to let them search.
