When people say that it's usually describing a beat that sounds computery, some people also say beats like that sound like a game boy game... but you're right, I think its stupid when people say a beat sounds like a ringtone just because it sucks. It has to actually sound like a ringtone to say that it sounds like a ringtone, lol.
some people don't understand the line lol.

to even clear up furtherly. when you play a string on your guitar, sound vibrations make your ear pick up the sounds. the sound will be dynamic, meaning it will change with the objects in the room, the size of the room, the amount of pick or force you apply when you play the string. the sound will be warm and the sound wave will develop on it's own as the sound fills the room.

when you play a string on a guitar inside a computer program that let's you produce music, everything is based on a mathematical algorithm, a pattern, so the sounds will sound very generic. they will lack warmth.

this is what it means. the song does sound like a ringtone though i think. listen to the kick. lmao. listen to the melody. these sound like fruityloops presets. only the mixdown saves this from sounding like actual gameboy music. i get the idea, use a bunch of older drum machine samples and classic old 80s synths. cute idea but lil john over-did it when he used the concept in more than one beat.

Man, it's not as horrible as we guys making it, it's even worse, if changing deep song like What'z Next into crunk is ok then somethings wrong with you
Dude, i wont even go down this road (of smth wrong wit me/with u)... This is a philosophical question that's been on since ever: People tend to be subjective and consider that the others have something wrong with them whenever they dont see things from the same point of view.. So naturally, i thought smth's wrong with u but didnt say it cause i'm trying to be objective.. Subjectively speaking, i still feel this track is deep as a muthafucka.. Beat didnt change that. I like it. Sounds ok. U dont, ok, but that doesnt mean smth is wrong in either of us.

It sounds like a ringtone, cause it's simple as hell just a few sounds and shit, no hard hitting drums (Nu-Mixx was good, no ringtone shit there)
Yet i read like a thousand reviews on this board (not on Streethop back then) that Nu-Mixx was a bunch of ringtones, and once some dude said this, people jumped on into that ship and declared the album a bunch of ringtones.. But here u r, sayin' no ring tones there.. So which is it? Who's right?? U or them?? See, this shit is highly controversial, and what u might consider garbage/ringtone (as many did with Nu-Mixx), might not be in fact that in other people's opinions. Same here, u see "International" as being a "ringtone". I dont. Plus the drums r there, maybe not maximum-hard-hitting drums, but the dry drums beat is there.. And the beat got more sounds than many rap hits i heard over the years...

I calculated my rating, my review and yeah it adds up (I never rated songs like good, great so I dunno what you mean with that)
1/5 = it sucks
I was speaking in general.. Meaning that some people say it's shit, some people really like the album.. So it is impossible that in fact this album sucks. If an album sucks, it wont be debated that it does. It will probably get a 95%+ of bad reviews. This is not the case. So this album doesnt suck. U just dont like it. But following the same logic, there isnt a vast majority sayin this album is GREAT, so also, it cant be said that it's great. It goes both ways, so this album is in fact fair (objectively speaking). I myself see it as very good.

What I noticed is that alot of Pac ad libs and hooks were cut. All in all it adds up to a significant amount of cut work.
alot have been taken out but you know i think we're lucky with the amount they kept in. like the untocuhable intro and the start to dont stop and damn the outro to play ya cards right.

True :thumb: ...

Btw, abt the Play Ya Cards outro, i donnow if u noticed, but they had 2 different outros for the 2 versions, and each fit the mood well:

- In the female version, Pac was speaking all soft and giving soft advice, as in tellin his homies how they be gettin "breakfest in bed", and tellin them to "open some champagne", to "get some roses", and to "play some soft shit".

- In the male version, a harder and more thuggish outro was used. Pac was addressing the Outlawz (and more specifically Castro, Yaki and Edi), describing them as "guerilla pimps" (smth that wouldnt fit in the mood of the female version).

Just thought i mention it in case someone hasnt noticed it yet.. Pz.

On Dumpin they just used Pac's first verse and not Pac's chorus who you hear at the end on the original version. What will they do with this? Make an Dumpin Part II with it in the future?

because they only have pacs verse vocals in acapella?

Playa Cardz Right Male- "This goin out 2 all the females..."
Female-Talkin 2 guys about how 2 deal with women...
just thought that was a bit odd, they go to the trouble of making 2 versions specifically specifically focusing on gender, edit, cut and paste and all that bull shit and then they completely ignore what's being said about each gender

Yea they don't have the acapella for Soon As I Get Home....it's kind of a good and bad thing...that's why we got They Don't Give A Fuck About Us in OG form too.

this happends to alot of edited albums. its not not gonna cause any problems if its released like that(or atleast im assuming). back when i was younger and didnt know any better about buying my cds from the local k-mart, id always notice this. i used to have still i rise (edited), and i remember in a couple songs they left some shit unedited.
on still i rise, the only words they seemed to edit out were fuck and nigga

i have both copies, they left the word shit on it on most songs

Pacs vocals in international sounded a lil low. I was thinking, Would it be funny if they used the cpu i made for Bitchez on the track? I thats a long shot but who knows these days with amaru.

Regarding the "Playa Cards Right" intro, this shit got me worried.. I mean do u think the "shady/enough of shady/fuck shady!!" editing is strictly in the clean version, or will them lines also be blanked in the explicit release?!!

It would be really funny if they edit the explicit version too.. Be like fucking motherfucking cocksucking Eminem still doing damage to Pac's shit even when he's miles away getting high on his fucking Prosac and Valium pills... Shit i cannot believe they would edit this shit just not to hurt Em's feelings!!!!!!

I dunnow why y'all bitchin'... It's not like their verses sucked.. Actually they layed some pretty good and strong verses. Why u keep bitchin' bout the "names" who're on the album instead of the actual verses?!!

Oh and btw, dont get me wrong.. I'm not a fan of the whole 50 cent/Eminem clik, and i'm not welcome of Amaru turning any Pac's album into a joint venture between Shady/G-Unit/D12... But they didnt do this, they just had Buck on one song in this album.. Plus what's wrong with Chamillionaire?? He got talent, and it's not like he was all over the album.. Was just the only verse!!!
