Technology NBA Live vs NBA 2K Series

Okay so my brother went and bought a PS3 yesterday (although i didnt want to get one just yet because i could do without an extra distraction).

but i was thinking if i was to get the latest nba game which would be better?

now... i know i recent years the 2k series have been rated better so therefore must be much better. but this year's fifa 10 is amazing and a huge improvement over its main rival pro evo so i was wondering if ea sports has done the same with the nba live series and improved over its main competitor 2k10 this year.

i like ea sports games, ive been playing them since childhood.

the 2k10 game has eric b & rakim - dont sweat the technique

also, i wouldnt mind getting a good quality pre-owned nba game like maybe last year or the year prior to that (09 or 08) as it would be more cost-effective and i could update the teams. i cant see myself playing on the ps3 alot because i dont want to and so im not going to pay up to £40 for a game i wont be playing much. - besides fifa 10 (football/soccer) is the main game i will be playing over any other game.


any thoughts, suggestions are welcome. thank you.

okay, the 2k10 thing was just the advert then. live has the better soundtrack this year.

also ive read on wikipedia that 2k10 has visual problems with the frame rate. 2k10 was rated just about the same as live 10 so if i do buy the 2010 installment i may go for live 10.

still looking for thoughts from anyone who has played or tested the game or demo. thanks.

they got less-than-stellar ratings on gamespot.com and gamespot.com is God.

i prefer 2k over live any day. live has made improvements this year and 2k kind of took a step back even the graphics look amazing. the basketball games out this year arent the best ones made.

the frame rate was more noticable on the 360. i rarely saw a problem with the ps3 version. imo the main problem was the defense. i used to shoot 85% and the other team shot like 90%. couple of weeks ago they released to put a patch which has fixed the problem. imo another problem came out this lol, know they take awkward shots when contested (its unnecessary).

my cuzin had live 10, i didnt bother playing after the first quarter.

i usually play 2k10 if im not playing modern warfare 2 on ps3.

i can buy live 09 for £15 or 2k9 for £12 (both pre-owned). now what i want to do is have other people pick up the game and play with me so we can challenge each other like in fifa. i know live is better for beginners and 2k series are more realistic and advanced.

i really liked live 06 on the pc.

^if youre gonna be playing online, 2ks online isnt that good, people say lives is noticabley better.

oh yea, that's something i'd be interested in - i did read that 2k's online experience wasnt very good.

actually, on second thoughts. i may not get any of them just yet. probably in the summer when ive got more time.

and also, my brother has moved the console up into his bedroom where he wakes up late and goes to sleep late, the room being locked when he sleeps. so basically i wont have much access unless awake, not home or when he plays with me. i can really do with concentrating on my work, instead of playing games with and without him. - just uses twice as much time.
