MTV Rates Makaveli as #9 on Greatest Hip Hop Albums!?!?

They put so much value in "realness" and emotion that they can't understand lyricism.
Honestly, that describes me to a T.

But im not like that with just Pac alone. In general, ive always thought substance and overall content was far more important than wordplay, punchlines, or metaphors.....concerning any artist.

Yup I do.
I don't like All Eyez On Me that much. It's a dope album to put on at parties and in the car etc. but overall Ready to Die was much better. AEOM seems rushed. There were a couple of excellent songs but overall it was one of Pac's worst albums (not saying it's bad though. Pac never released a bad album). Songs like When We Ride I enjoy but I don't think they're very good. They're beneath Pac's level of writing.
Me Against the World is Pac's best album and that's better than Ready to Die though.

2Pac is better than Biggie (and I like Pac's music better as well) but Biggie just had an excellent debut (while Life After Death wasn't that great). It's like with Nas, you can say what you want about him and his albums but Illmatic is one of the best albums ever released period.

You should think about the fact that Ready to Die is so widly celebrated and the fact that you skip most of the tracks. Doesn't that make you think that maybe you're missing something about the album? You should bump that album till you learn to appreciate it, see why people say it's so good. When you share the opinion that it's a great album, THEN compare it to AEOM.

Listen to "Suicidal Thoughts", that's one of the best tracks on Ready to Die.
That Nas album, Illmatic. I didn't like it. But then again, I was only young when I heard it, and had the album. But I personally wouldn't call it the best album, period, just my opinion(i know most of you will disagree), but you know. We all have different taste in music, albums, you know :)

Doesn't the fact that these heads always have it in their list tell you something?
If I think an album is wack as fuck but people with a lot of knowledge of rap think it's a great album, I think "hey, maybe I'm missing something.". Then I'll go listen to the album again and again and see if I can appreciate it more. If I can't, I'll most likely stay away from calling it wack and just say I can't see why it's great.
Unless of course I know why they think it's a dope album and I don't agree with it. I'll call the shit wack then.

thats the way of thinking from someone whos intelligent. it might sound so easy but obviously its not for most people out there.

even though its an overwhelming consensus among Pac fans and hip hop fans in general that it is a masterpiece and most likely Pac's best album, as well as one of the best hip hop albums of all time. You's a joke man.
whatever man. i only really like 5 of the tracks on that album. those 5 are my favorites. the rest are alrite. the album should definatly be at least in the top 5.
but then again, who gives a fuck about where it stands on a chart. just listen to what you like.
