Most Uncomfortable Situation Ever

#25
^no, this situation really wasn't like that. there's just no excuse for talking to a complete stranger this way and making someone feel uncomfortable and harassed in their own workplace. i've worked there 8 years and never once complained about anything, but this is something i have to report. i think she has mental problems or something.
You sound like a huge pussy. She was just trying to make friends. Grow a sack and joke with her back. You're the wierd one for taking this so seriously. Do you have a history of being anti-social or is this like a one time thing?

^^

I think most serious people (especially at work) would act like Euphanasia.

I myself would feel offended if somebody acted like her.

Um did you not read what I wrote? This is not a situation where you and one of your friends or someone you know are joking around with each other and being sarcastic. This is a complete stranger being offensive, vulgar and rude in an attempt to make someone feel uncomfortable or to try and intentionally piss them off or get a rise out of them. You seriously have to be retarded to say shit like that to someone you don't even know and have never spoken to.

And it would be bad enough if something like this happened at a bar. I would just tell her to shut the fuck up and curse her out. But to harass someone at work?

Anyway, for those of you who aren't idiots, I talked to the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager today and told them what happened. Needless to say, they were furious and appalled. I guess the girl's next shift is on Tuesday and she is more than likely going to get fired. They did tell me that I shouldn't have waited two days to tell them given the severity of the situation, but told them right after it happened.

They're right but I was just so shocked that I didn't no how to react at first.

Crazy shit.

The thing is, that kind of behavior, by the book, isn't tolerated and can have serious consequences if reported. However, it's one of those situations where it's not really a big deal unless it's reported. If that makes sense. I don't know the girl's state of mind, she might be a bit out there and was maybe intoxicated, but you probably appeared insecure and victim-like to her and she saw that she could make you uncomfortable. Whatever, though. You shouldn't feel uncomfortable at work and if you don't want to deal with it personally, you can do what you did.

If you would have joked with her at first, maybe said something back then introdued yourself I doubt it would have been a big deal. Since you went the anti-social route she saw you were weak and kept it going hoping you would loosen up, probably what I would have done. Who cares if you're a stranger, that makes the situation even better cus we need more people like that in the world. People who aren't afraid to talk to someone, about stupid shit. I still think you're overreacting but then since your managers agree with you you probably think everything is fine. Managers are just as pussy cus they don't want any suits on their hands, especially when it can come down to sexual harassment. Little Skittle is right to be honest. I think you made yourself uncomfortable by taking it so serious when you could have easily joked it away like she was probably doing.

I think he did a good thing.

If he joked back he would look like an idiot in her eyes and automatically lose the "beef" with her.
I think that's what she wanted, she found a prey to attack to raise her self esteem.
I don't know how do you guys see it as a joke or a positive action, she clearly "dissed" him.
It's easy to see if someone's playing or when someone's dissing.

Seriously. Of course he should have been offended and reported it. She wasn't trying to be friendly or playing some game. She was either demented or suffered from a condition called coprolalia. It's a form of Tourette syndrome. It's characterized by excessive and uncontrollable use of foul language, especially words related to feces. That should be taken into consideration before they fire her, but I think if she didn't tell them she had this problem before she took the job, they won't let her slide now if it turns out she really does have it.

Yea I read exactly what you wrote, and you're being a huge pussy. You honestly ratted out a new girl for playing with you? I'm going to go out on a whim and say that you were bullied as a child, probably to a severe extent. As a result of this, you developed mild anti-socialism and a possible attachment disorder.

Have you ever heard of breaking the ice? I can almost gurantee she was just trying to get you to laugh. Have you never disarmed a situation like this before? You could have joked back. Instead, you remained silent and I'm assuming like you had a deer caught in the headlights look. This however, is just an assumption based on the fact that you already seem like an awkward person.

Are you really calling this harassment? Dude, some chick was joking with you. Grow a pair, please.

"Just so shocked"? You really sound like she was trying to rape or murder you. Have you ever been accused of being a drama queen?

From what he says she wasn't joking. I think it's easy to see if someone's joking or not. If she was not joking she was just trying to offend him. If so, if he joked back she would achieve her goal.

I see it that way.

The other thing is, to think about it for a second, if it was not at work but during lunch I would just tell her to fuck off. He played it nice and kind and ignored her.

I'm having a hard time even believing that you are serious. Did you just ask me if I've heard of breaking the ice? I don't know what kind of world you live in, but where I live people don't make obscene comments to perfect strangers as a way of breaking the ice. And I'm not even going to bother addressing your ridiculous assumptions about the kind of person I am based on a couple of online comments because that would make me sound almost as retarded as you.

If you still have doubts about your own stupidity, I recommend trying this:

If you have a job, go to your workplace and approach a girl that you don't know and have never spoken to and look her dead in the eye and ask her if she's shit her pants and what color her ass hair is. If she laughs and says "oh i see you're just breaking the ice here," then I will concede that you're right. If she acts at all embarrassed or offended like she inevitably will act, I win.

PS. You're a moron.

Exactly. She didn't even have a slight grin on her face, she was dead serious. When I told the story to people, they couldn't believe that I didn't tell her to go fuck herself. That's what I would have done at a bar or some public place, but I decided I had to stay professional at work.
