Deez has actually released three albums and collaborated with some big names, that does deserve respect. Even if you dont like his style, he is at least dedicated to what he does and that's more than can be said for a lot of people.

^It's a lost cause. People will still justify the hate.

That's one of the down-sides of the modern artist-fan dynamic due to the Internet. When we interact with artists (loosely-defined for the sake of the haters), there's a bigger chance that the things they say and do will not appeal to us and make us like them less. For example, due to interacting with Casey Rain on this board, I will never be a fan of his music. When I see Kanye being arrogant in his interviews, I like it but when I see Casey arrogant in his interviews, it angers me. That's probably because I haven't interacted (duh) with Kanye like I have with Casey. Not to forget that Kanye gets a pass on his arrogance for being a better artist. And the same goes for Mark Deez. If we didn't know him on the board, there'd be less hate. It is what it is.

You've got a point there. It's like being friends with someone and then they become famous. You know how they really are as opposed to what they have to be in front of the cameras. It's also like seeing a teacher in school and then running in to them on the streets and seeing they have a life outside the classroom. It's just seeing them in a different light that changes everything.

I agree. This is why i don't really try to interact with any of my favourite artists or really care much for their personal life, because if i dislike it, i'll be missing out on good music due to thinking they are faggots.

Yeah it's usually that way. Not only with artists but with any people, places etc.
After some point the more you get into something the less appealing it seems. Things are not as great as you thought. The only artist that it didn't apply to was 2pac. I don't know why. Probably that was the reason why I could still like him after so many years. He just didn't seem casual no matter how I looked at him.

I just like music. I try not to get stuck on personas.
I think it's pretty shallow if you let your thoughts about someone's personality affect your enjoyment of their music. Especially someone you haven't even interacted with in real life.

I've met a few people where I've been a fan of their music and they've been an asshole to me IN REAL LIFE, it doesn't stop me enjoying their music. The two are unrelated.

If you're not gonna like the music, then don't like the music, it means nothing to me. But don't dislike it based on any OTHER reason and try and justify it because that makes you a hater.

Even if that persons done something really fucked up. If you don't like Chris Brown's music because he punched Rihanna, you're a hater. If you don't like his music, the only non-pussy reason is because you genuinely don't like it.

Pittsey, is that you in your avatar? That's exactly how I pictured you. I used to picture you as Paul Rudd. I don't picture you nearly as often as I'm making it seem. Wow. This is getting weird.

When I said I don't try to get stuck on personas, it was in the context of musical heroes and idols. Everyone is too imperfect for me so I don't get the urge to get into their lives. But, with you, I can't help it, because I visit this board.

While I agree that people should separate "the man from the music", it's not as practical as it seems. It's hard to stop feelings of animosity from developing, at times.

what the hell? lol, what a bitch move!
he only comes once in a blue moon to post his mixtapes and leaves. it's either stick with the board or don't. don't come here pimp your shit and leave. especially when he was once an active member of this board. i find it disrespectful, even if people here have not always treated him fairly. that's how i felt.

good for him if he has a career that's going somewhere. i'm not hating, i'm treating him like any other n00b who posts their shit and leaves.
