Just wanted to ask you guys what you think about the OG beat. It's in TRTGFC on the title track. In the booklet it mentions sampled from Pac's Mama's just a little girl and is produced by JJ. Personnally I think the OG beat rips the cheap mix they did on BD.

The thing is that I was already aware of that fact that the OG beat was already before they announced Mamma's just a little girl for BD. So, once I heard the remix, I thought the beat was really lame and can't be compared to JJ's classic song. What are your thoughts on this?

Also Dante did you ever hear the OG track and do any of you guys believe that it will be released in OG form one day; maybe in '06 with the next Pac album?

Peace

I don't really like tha beat on TRTGFC, so I guess I wouldn't like tha OG beat :(. Tha remix on BD wasn't bad IMO. And no, this won't be released on Pac's next album. Why would you release a song you've already released?

Why you say that?
that sample is reffering to pacs vocals where he says "so u ask me why the rose that crew from the concrete had damaged petals etc..".. that was taken from mjalg and used at the end of the rtgftc track.

What I mean 2pacThugLife is that maybe if they plan on releasing OGs next year, they should get this with a couple of classics like Words 2 My First Born, Tattoo Tears, Lil Homies, All Out, Thug in Me among others classics.

Anyways back on the topic;
So Diaz I'm just wondering what they mean by this:
Contains a sample from "Mama's Just A Little Girl" (T. Shakur) Joshua's Dream/Music Corp. of America, Inc. (BMI) (Johnny "J") Black/Hispanic Music (ASCAP) previously unreleased.

This is actually written in The Rose that Grew from Concrete booklet.

Because if it was only sampling Pac's voice I don't think they would need to mention JJ and his music company unless I'm mistaken. And the previously unreleased are they talking about the lyrics or is it the beat?

Peace

Everybody needs to understand that sampling isn't limited to beats. Pac sampled/interpolated Method Man's "Bring the Pain" chorus in "No More Pain" and the All Eyez on Me booklet indicates that. No duplication of beats, just the chorus. Same case with this song, so stop calling it the OG.

I don't think they'll release OG's next year. It's just gonna be a double album with unreleased songs. I don't think they'll ever release tha OG's .

additionally, a complete song is considered a piece of art, not two seperate pieces for the vocal and instrumental layers. sampling one fraction of the vocal layer essentially means sampling one fraction of the entire artpiece, and so it's appropriate to credit anyone involved with making the artpiece. aye?

#1: if the fuckin booklet reports the words "sampled from" it fuckin means that it samples and not remix in the OG!! a song based on in its original form IS NOT A SAMPLE, cuz it would fuckin mean that it sampled its own work!
#2: if you could read the song credits properly you would have read the note "produced by: Femi Ojetunde, Jamal Joseph, Royal & Tarik Bayyan... !!! hell fuckin yeah! Johnny J didnt produced the beat used on The Rose vol.1 beeatch getcha facts right the next time or i'll whoop yo ass triple twice with a razor blaze!

Hey M4cKaVe71 watch your mouth. I ain't here to start no beef. First I thought that when I saw the sampling it just came to my mind that it was the beat and not Pac's voice. BTW you ain't going to whip anything and calm down we're all here to discuss and have conversations in order to get some facts straighten out unless you're assuming everyone knows everything. We get to know something new everyday.

BTW what's the deal with being pumped like this. At your age you should be able to discuss calmly and do it with some class and not with this attitude.
