Lunch...

I'm thin and my MD said I'm healthy like a horse after seeing my test results... Keep in mind I eat everything and just don't gain, so maybe I'm a special case lol, but then you have my brother who's an insane meat and grease eater, who is of normal weight and has Cholesterol, he is only 26.

Each person is built in a specific way depending on genetics and more. I take up after my mother's side of the family, all who are thin, and live a very long time and most still have a lot of their original hair colour and they're in their 70s... (my great-grand mother for example was the oldest woman in Croatia, she died at the age of 98 and still had a lot of her brown hair, believe it or not) ... So it really depends on who you are.

As long as you intake a bit of A, B and C all equal amounts, you'll be healthy imo.

Keco you shouldn't be afraid to ask for advice here, people would probably be nicer to you than others.

Dant bee scurreeed :)

Keko52, How does one find out if they have a zinc deficiency? I aint trying to be funny, do you just go to the doctor for a check up or something?

You generally go to a physician with symptoms, like slow wound healing or imparied taste. If he's ruled out other things that can cause that, he'll suspect a zinc deficiency and either test your hair or just give you zinc for a while and see if you improve. A zinc deficiency is serious in children because it can stunt growth and delay sexual maturity. Also, without zinc you can't galvanize iron.

You know, you can have muscles and not be fit. Aerobics is what makes you fit, not lifting weights. Though weights should be some part of everyone's exercise routine.

For my size I'm pretty strong so I'm told, and I am somewhat sculpted... meaning I'm not exactly flat like a board with no muscles and I seem to have a better cardio than most people my age, oddly enough.

There is always room to get bigger, stronger and in peak physical condition though, etc, which I am slowly working on; just bought some equipment, etc.

What I mean by healthy was that I have no deficiencies, or health problems. My doc gave me a thumbs up and a funny Jewish smirk. :thumb:

Yes of course.

You can be strong but not fit. You can be fit but not strong.

You can be strong and fit but not healthy. I personally think Casey IS healthy, but not strong, and maybe or maybe not fit.

My point is you can be one without the other, where as I want to find the right balance for my body. I am healthy. I dont want to be skinny, I do not think that is fit and strong. I want to be healthy, fit and strong.

I started working out. My biggest problem is my diet. I can't keep one. I love food too much and even worse I eat at irregular times and irregular portions. I tried changing this but I don't have the will.

I am doing P90X though if you guys have heard about it. Fucking tough.

I'm definitely healthy and definitely fit.

'Strong' is a strange word because it's relative. Not a single person on this board is strong compared to a professional wrestler, for example.

I'm as strong as I need to be in order to perform at the highest level in the things I do.

I wouldn't be, if my profession was a builder, or any sort of a construction worker, perhaps even something like a mail sorter who lifts heavy bags of mail day in day out.

But I'm not any of those things, I'm a professional vocalist and songwriter and the ability to bench press xxx lbs or whatever is pretty low on my priority list, right next to learning how to speak Esperanto.

^Lol I know what you mean man but I got it from a friend who bought it and copied the DVD's. It's a lot of DVD's and i believe 44 gigs of downloading. I can find you a torrent link.

P90X DVD Copy + Extras (download torrent) - TPB

good luck lol

But it is definitely worth giving a try. You can see results 2 weeks in if not the first week specially if you keep a proper diet. It's not some promised magic trick but rather hard work to get there if you can stick with it. But with this you don't have to go to the gym or buy expensive equipment.

I did a few weeks before but then got really busy with work and had to stop but i am getting back into it so I can tell you first hand it does work.

Funny, because I began to teach myself Esperanto last year. It's a great foundation when pursuing other languages later.

I just want to be the best possible person I can be, inside and out. I have the same career as you which means I have a lot of spare time and work from home. So Ive taken the opportunity to try to better myself both physically and mentally.

Well the key to really bulking up is eating, a lot, all the time.

P90x looks like a good cardio program I could get my girlfriend so she can stay fit.

What equipment do the workouts require?

Set of dumbbells, pull up bar and resistance bands.

I wanted to try it but, like S O F I, don't want to pay $200 for some dvd's, but I will eventually.

My problem is also diet. I don't eat junk food, but with my work hours (14:45-23:00) it just really sucks. Forty-five minute lunch break, not like you can really cook in that amount of time, and they don't have anywhere to store a lunch if you want to pack one. I usually resort to fast food, unfortunately.
I work out 6 days a week and play basketball five days a week, I am in very good shape, just not as tone as I'd like to be. 6'3" and 205 lbs, not too bad. Always room for improvement, though. I'd like to be about ten pounds lighter, and I don't care about strength. I would never sacrifice my quickness and speed for power.

Im 6'3 and 207lbs. I think 195 would be way too light, you dont want to look lanky.

But you're trying to bulk up and stuff, I have two agendas:
Basketball:
Most 6'3" players are very light. Steve Francis, Baron Davis, etc. etc. all around 195 area. I am faster than people my size or bigger, and stronger than someone smaller than me.

MMA Fighting:
My size is kinda of a catch-22 here. When you're 6'3" you can't really drop down to a real low weight class without shedding tons of muscle. I boxed a guy an inch taller than me, 5 or so pounds heavier, a few nights ago. He was much stronger, I work out with the guy, but his hands were slow. He drilled me a few good times, but I got him more. He was too slow to hit me, and my hits just landed with enough force to follow with another one. He would swing slowly and I could dodge them so for every five he threw, he would connect with one. For every five I threw, four would hit. I would rather hit someone four times with 50% power, than one time with 80% power.
Had he got me on the ground it would have been a different story because his strength would have probably prevailed. But, him being in a 215 weight class (and him wanting to be in 235) and my being in a 185-195 class, I wouldn't have to worry about that.

I don't look lanky, by any means. My shoulders are too broad and my chest is too wide for that, but I've got abnormally long arms and legs, so it kind of evens out.
