For the most part.. if I hear that comment I think of a lazy asshole looking for an excuse so that they don't have to work hard. (Not all the time or every person of course)
It means the same thing to me. I don't care about Obama as a Black President outside of the fact that it's good for history books. I care about presidents based on their views and actions.. not based on what ethnic group they belong to.
I think people are proud of him through race/ethnic association, without knowing what he is all about or stands for. Most of the ppl I talk to who are pro-Obama have no idea what his policies are, what his viewpoints are, what he wants to achieve while in office, etc... it's ridiculous.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The amount of people that are indifferent about what their political leaders stand for is just shocking. People are preoccupied with their own lives and don't even bother to look at the great scheme of things that effect them everyday. Talk about a failure in civic responsibility imo.
