A couple days ago I was in a motorbike accident.

Some guy who was traveling in the opposite direction decided to pull an illegal U-Turn so all of a sudden he turns in front of me about 20 meters ahead of me. I slammed my breaks on, my rear tire slid to the side a little as it always does which would have been fine but it happened to be raining AND my tire clipped the tram track. Rain + smooth metal + sliding tire is NOT a good combination.

As soon as it happened my bike just flung out from under neath me, I landed on my side and started gliding across the cement.

Luckily because it was so wet I didnt roll or else Id have banged myself up worse and probably hit my head a couple of times, I just slid, although did bang my right knee, shoulder and elbow, took skin off my right arm and skinned my left palm and sprained my left wrist.

It's like REALLY bad carpet burn.

Some homeless people helped me up, I rode home, so it wasnt that bad.

The guy stopped to see what happened and then drove off, I didnt get a license plate, but I would recognize him. I saw his face as I was skidding on the bike all in slow motion but as soon as I hit the ground I dont even remember what happened.

Nothing hurt until later, a combination of I guess adrenaline and the cold.

But yeah, I am ok, it could have been a LOT worse. Im happy there was no other traffic or I could have slid under an oncoming car or tram!

So yes, it hurts to move my left hand so I am typing with my right hand and left pinky finger only hehe.

Dude, close call. Glad you're OK.

Take advantage of the second chance -- get ride of the bike. Next time you might not be so lucky. Most people on motorcycles aren't.

Consider it at least, for your own sake.

True but Id have been fine if it wasnt wet causing my tire to slide out and clip a rail way/tram track...

I know what you're saying, and I appreciate it, but I just love riding. I eat junk food even though it's bad for me because I enjoy it. I smoke even though it is bad for me because I enjoy it. I drink even though it is bad for me because I enjoy it. I ride a bike even though it could be bad for me because I enjoy it.

when i was taking Budget class, some people were talking about speeding, and one guy says he hates motorcyclist and doesnt look for them.

you wouldnt believe how loud it got after that. it turns out, most people were trying for a moto license. lol

Its nice of you to help out the homeless people who helped you.. Most people wouldn't do that..

Why were you riding in the rain anyway?
