It's funny because I don't know anybody who bought Life after death. And i still can't believe it sold more than Pac

I think Ready To Die has sold the most.or was it Life After Death
i do believe it was life after death and that it's one of the only (if not THE only) rap albums to go diamond.

IDK could be the best selling world wide, BUT thats on wikipedia so anyone couldve written it....whos counting?
You really shouldnt waste your time with pac album sales because they havnt been updated in years.

For example if you go to RIAA.com and search "2 pac" It has all eyez on me at 9 mil sold. That was in late 1998, and the album only came out in 1996...2 YEARS!!!

so Im sure if they updated the sales, All Eyez on Me would be well past Life After Death. Bad Boy will do anything to keep biggies image hot so ofcourse they update the record sales.

U dont need updated sales to realize Pac is without a doubt the most popular Rap artist world wide. I was in a hookha bar in montreal this weekend and I walked in they were playing Hit Em Up hahahaha. Next song Until The End Of Time.

wikipedia can be edited by anybody and i find it hard to believe Makaveli sold 28 million copies in 2 years...that's approaching Thriller status

Yea,2Pac has sold between 30-40 million albums throughout his career and posthumously.i dont think Makaveli accounts for 28 million of that. Its a mistake.

^^ Supposedly, the only reason the BIG album wen't diamond was because they applied for diamond status, and amaru didn't for AEOM.

This was something I read from a forum (this one I think).

Pac's sold about 40 million in America, putting him in the Top 40 all time for records sold in the country. If I remember correctly, that doesn't even include Makaveli because that album's artist was "Makaveli" and not 2Pac.

All Eyez On Me was a Death Row release. They stopped updating the numbers of platinum many years ago. All Eyez On Me and Greatest Hits were no longer updated after 8x platinum: those are surely over 10x platinum right now.

As for worldwide, Greatest Hits and All Eyez have both sold over 25 million records. I doubt Makaveli is that high, but I don't know for sure.

You are right. A record company must pay a certain amount of money to get the diamond status. This was discussed recently. Amaru or Death Row are simply to cheap or lazy to do this. It's a damn shame.
If I'm not wrong, there are only five Hip Hop albums with diamond status (I think one of these is some Shaggy's album).
AEOM probably reached bigger sales than B.I.G.'s album, but Bad Boy payed so it would be certified diamond.
I don't know about Makaveli sales, but since AEOM and GH were last certified 9x platinum in 1998 they definately reached 10 million long ago, so 2Pac could have two diamond certified albums, all it takes is some money out of Amaru/Death Row's pockets.
Don't know about Makaveli world wide sales, but I believe 2Pac sold somwhere around 75 million units wordwide and he is in the Guiness Book of World Records as the best selling Hip Hop artist of all time (I think Eminem is second with 65 million).
Hope they update this soon, certify them diamond and do 2Pac right!

And I think in these 75 million records sold, Thug Life and Makaveli are not included because (as someone already mentioned) these were released under different names.

Yeahh this has been something that has been spoken about on the board for years.

In a nutshell, Pac's albums havent been updated in YEARS. and AEOM and GH and possibly even Makaveli would all be diamond if they were counted properly to this date and verified

Just wondering, since we're on this topic, does anyone know which Hip Hop album reached platinum status fastest?
I read in the 2Pac Legacy book that AEOM became platinum in 4 hours!!!
