Anime is okay and all, but you can NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER hold it against someone if they don't know about it or can't distinguish anime characters because, simply, universally, it's just not cool. Same with Star Trek. There are a million trekkies, but they aren't cool. So you do your anime thing but don't claim I should know it or that I'm uneducated if I don't know. Last time I checked, they don't teach anime at respectable institutions.

Yes there is some anime for kids, but 80% of all anime/manga is rated 15/18. Anime was created because Japan was mega poor and they couldnt afford to pay the huge costs of making a real movie, so they used cheaper techniques, ie animation to make the majority of action/scifi/fantasy based titles.
You live under some illusion that animation is for kids? Thats because you are narrow minded dumb ass Hick with no knowledge of what goes on outside your country, shit possibly not even what's happening outside of your state. If you weren't such an uneducated buffoon you would know that movie's started as animation only, there was no technology to record real life images at an animatable rate.
Also are you calling a huge majority of Japanese people, as well as many other Asians, 14 year old girls? Or even more, your beloved rappers and musical artists? I can see a hand full of artists in the news to the left who happily admit they read manga or watch anime. Are you calling them 14 year old girls, would you even have to balls to say it to them?

Well, I just downloaded the Pokemon movies, all 10 or so of them and am now getting ready to watch them all. Then, I will finish watching Bleach. I am on ep. like..40-something for the last 8 months.
