Exactly, you gotta watch that you dont sound patronizing or holier than thou.
Let me say this: I feel a kind of obligation to help anyone who I feel has a wrong view of the world, which happens to be the majority of people, unfortunately. I feel sorry for them because i realize that in most cases, they have undergone some kind of torment and I want to help them. I suppose that's just my innate benevolence.
And i disagree that you cant change people by talking to them.
Even though you're coming from a good place, and I also share the desire to help others in need, there are so many things to reconsider in this sentence. First of all, and i dont mean to sound aggressive, but who are you to say that you have the right view of the world? Just because you dont agree with their lifestyle?
Wouldnt it just be annoying if you were talking to someone and when it came up that you were agnostic they felt the need to talk you into becoming a christian, because that was their idea of the right way?
If someone doesnt come asking for help or your opinion, theres not really an opening for you to get into it. And even then, you can't change them, change comes from within.
