i know questions have been asked or whatever. i feel this question might be useless as its kinda like asking when a new pac album will be released.. but..

are y'all really planning on doing anything with hitemup.com or not.. because it doesnt really seem like it. if not, put the work into the hands of someone that woud be dedicated to making it into a 2pac community, and not this subforum to a hip hop website like it is now (not that i dont like it here). im not saying fork the domain over but im sure there would be a few web savy 2pac fans in here that would be more than happy to bring that website back to life..

btw, no dis-respect was meant for the creators of this website.. I understand that those days are gone and people have moved on with their lives but it would mean alot for us fans out there if we could all work together and make something happen.

ever since that site went down (i forget what year that was) we were all forced to go to sub-par websites to participate in forums that just didnt have the same vibe. alot of them imitated hitemup.com (me included with troublesome96.com).. but nothing came close. alot of the forums are still up and running but there is hardly the amount of activity that hitemup.com had. if we could bring back hitemup.com i feel like it would be the start to a new era.

ahh.. anyone? i just wanna know if its being worked on like a dre album.. (lol) if thats the case then case closed but if there is no effort being made howabout asking the fans for input, requests, etc. hitemup.com was one of the most visited websites on the entire web and i bet it could happen again.

cmon rukas, jon, whoever.. i know u guys still got what it takes to do it again...

There is no reason why any group of fans could not have created an equally informative site by now. HitEmUp hasn't existed for years now. Nearly 7 years. And in that time, nobody stepped up to the plate. Like you said, sub-par, imitation forums full of children bickering about whether some assclown snipped 10 seconds off an unreleased song or lowered the bitrate before sharing.

But you're not gonna get a scene and community like there used to be. There is no scene. We ain't even had an official posthumous release in 5 years. Most of the cats that acquired knowledge have no interest in discussing it for the 8 millionth time. It's cool that the domain is back where it belongs but I don't think it's gonna make that much of a difference if you're expecting things to magically return to how they were a decade ago.

The 2pac scene as far as I am aware is all about "rares". I don't want to get into the politics of it, but it is dead. Hitemup is exactly what is needed. It doesn't need to be as busy as it was before. But a decent site for the GOAT is necessary. And there were a lot of good connections made. I have a small amount of information I would like to contribute to the site when it is up.

the way i see things is like this.. eventually there is going to be one or two more 2pac albums released. im hoping we finally get some good shit but i can see a couple poorly thought out smash-together remixes put in between a couple unheards with ok but altered origionality. i think it would be nice logging back onto hitemup.com thinking to myself.. "ahh this feels familiar". checking in every day to peep the dj's new "og vibe" tracks, and whatever other news might be circulating.. there really used to be quite the group of characters on this website and it was entertaining sometimes just to read the stupid beef between people, or seeing people get slapped on the wrist for freeposting (lol). we may as well rock this bitch untill the shit burns down again.. we can atleast get our kicks before its in flames. i cant really believe that shit happened in the first place its a real shame but its like anything. (what goes up must come down)

to me checking out these sites and keeping up on 2pac related news is my way for holding it down for 2pac. I'm not saying hes still IMPORTANT to me today, as he was, but his RELAVANCE to me remains the same and i dont think that'll ever change.

I don't think there needs to be a scene a la a forum. There needs to be a one-stop-shop informative site on all matters Tupac. And it should concentrate on Tupac news and editorials. Nothing new needs to be said, really. I'll provide a few examples of what I've seen on another blog/site:

http://smokingsection.uproxx.com/TSS/2011/05/the-gift-of-gab-five-legendary-tupac-interviews#page/1
http://smokingsection.uproxx.com/TSS/2011/06/and-today-we-celebrate-tupac-shakur
That's also what I think.

Although a news section would probably be necessary and any promos from the estate or interviews with friends and family may be interesting, depending on whether they are actually new interesting questions and not the same boring questions about "rares".

Unfortunately these people have left the 2pac forums. I don't visit any myself so myabe King Dizzy or DJ Fatal are still about, but I doubt it. Others have got bored with the immaturity of the new fans. Others, like myself, don't listen to 2pac very often any more.

eh.. i get what you're saying. apparently "riskie" has a 2pac community..? i never really knew about this but it seems really active and full of updates.. kinda interesting. its called bomb1st.com im not trying to promote it or anything but it seems pretty rock steady. riskie is the admin over there. i guarantee if his place had the hitemup.com name it would be huge.. anyway, enough with the nonsense.. is that place coming back or what?

Riskie the artist? I spoke to him on the phone when I was in LA. I didn't realize he was running a community. That is cool. I will have to check it out.

I pretty much agree. But on the other hand, hitemup did start all this - where we are, what we discuss and that we "know" each other so ...it made a difference and it might make one again if it comes back. But in no way expect it to change my life, ;)

Actually there is about 2 or 3 Pac sites where the scene is pretty fuckin big. Some of the og's from HitEmUp are actually still lurking around the sites.
