Hardly any facts? LOL. Science is ALL facts and evidence. That is the point. As Sebastian said, that is a very ignorant thing to say.
There was no "Eve", LMFAO. They have bones and evidence of pre homo-sapiens (ie, the previous form of life we evolved from), from over 200,000 years ago. I did see some religious idiots claiming they found "the bones of Eve" from 6,000 years ago. Which clearly is a complete crock of shit, funny how they shut up when everybody else asked for some evidence or carbon dating.
And Christopher Langan is FAR from being "the smartest man in the world" lol. It's not even close. He has a high IQ. That's all. That's the potential for intelligence. Not intelligence itself. Technically he may have a higher IQ than Einstein, but if you believe he's smarter than Einstein was you'd have to be smoking crack. I didn't address that post originally because it was obviously laughable horseshit, but since you decided to repost it....
So you believe in god because your computer you thought was broken turned on? No, you had faith before that and you attributed random occurences to it.
that's why i put Eve in quotes bro. It was the oldest female bone that was older than what science said the world was older at the time. so science up to that point was wrong. but okay, okay, i get it. ya'll going to gather more data, and improve on what ya'll know.
I knew of God, but never did I get into it. So for you to say I had Faith before it, doesn't correlate to how i actually was...
and how does Science or Logic go against my "random occurnces" ?
Like, where in Science does it say an object can defy gravity by itself?
a broken computer can turn on, coincedentally after i asked God something? okay, maybe that one isn't sciece, but i'm just sayin
I feel i was pushed into Faith, and even then i didn't believe it. I had to go through some more shit that i don't choose to share here, bc it will seem a little more far fetched then what I already put. n frankly, some is more personal than the stories i have shared with yall.
First, "the smartest man in the world" is a media-created phrase that is virtually meaningless. All he did was score high on an IQ test, which just shows he's good at answering questions that are on IQ tests. In research, the term "intelligence" is far too vague to be useful. In the 1960s, "intelligence" used to be defined as "what is measured with an IQ test." Great scientific definition, huh? Now the term "cognitive functions" is used, and it tries to measure a lot more than IQ tests do. You should read The Mismeasure of Man by Stephen jay Gould, if you're interested in intelligence testing and what's wrong with it.
Langdon is simply saying the universe is like a mind and our minds are parts of this big mind. This is not a new idea and I think it's a good way as any to look at it. However, he chooses to call this metaphor "the Mind of God," but he does not relate it to any religion's conception of "God." One could say the same thing by calling it "the Universe." The point is, his theory or mathematical "proof" (which he has yet to present 10 years after he said he had it) should not be taken up by religious believers in God as backing up their faith belief. It's got nothing to do with it. If he has anything beyond theory, it's simply a description of the universe like other scientific descriptions. He just irresponsibly and unscientifically uses the word "God."
And rich and successful people often thanking God is not evidence that God helped them. It's just evidence that poor and unsuccessful people who have belief in God do not go blaming God for their bad luck or lack of motivation. But to be fair, they should, (cause even heaven got a ghetto). It's probably also evidence that you watch a lot of award shows with black people who out of cultural habit feel they have to thank God every time they win something.
50 Cent: "I want to thank God for inspiring me to write, "Smack Dat Hoe in the Fat Ass with a Fat Dick." In fact, God gave me that title. I was gonna call it "You're Beautiful" but God said, no, you want a hit, then Smack Dat Hoe." (Audience, which includes Shadows, cheers, their faith once more being affirmed)
I've taken Psychology in college, and already knew that in High School that IQ tests are basically, what you said. I was more making a mockery of Casey's inability to argue with the "smartest man in the world" because i see it as false logic. It's like an adult saying "im smarter than you, so respect what i say" but then he in the past has said "if the person is wrong, i don't have to agree with him just bc his title" (i paraphrased that, btw).
I watch award shows, mainly for performances. But it's not just from award shows, it's when people speak on it in interviews and such. You are mainly pointing out people that are saying it to be politically correct though.
Why don't you mention more powerful people that don't do bad in the world. I'm not sure about her, bc i don't give a fuck about her, but isn't Oprah religious?
What about Tony Gaskins? I've never seen or heard of him do ANYTHING negative, like 50cent.
Or non-black people. There are plenty of people that are not of african descent that mention God.
I'm confused about your post Shadows..
Why did you believe the millionaire? Because he had money?
And you just recently became religious? Why? I'm curious. I mean, what led you to decide that you needed religion and a deity in your life?
No. I'm just saying, he is following the book. Living his life by the words and he's a millionaire. He didn't need no gimicks like most ppl use to become famous or have money. It says in the Bible somewhere that gimicks are works of the "Devil" and that ppl who use that gimmick, falter. I don't see Tupac using a gimmick, and he stayed relevent. He believed in God to an extent, more than any other artist has. (i just mentioned Pac, cuz Jokerman did.) Anyway. He's a motivational speaker, speaking on what the morals in a way you probably didn't think of before because he studied the book. You might say religion is a gimmick, but never do his motivation speeches say "talk about God" or anything. He mainly works with Sport stars and College students to keep them going and reaching their goals. People have had great success with him, and that's why he gets paid mad $ to listen to him speak. I mean, it's like $100 to talk to him for an hour. The man talked to me for free bc he said he felt he needed to and knew what i was going through.
When people of great power talk about Religion and don't do it for attention, they never mention the stories that all you guys get mad about. Okay, blood into wine? That's hype shit to get ya'll to talk about how stupid religion is. Like i said earlier, this came out with the fake rapture. Um...God said there would be fake prophets and no one knew, not his Son, only HIM when the world would end.
Nah, the Millionaire i know mentions the rules and follows them. Never did he mention his religion to me, but the book. Which is what i'm saying. Some of you guys are arguing religion, i'm arguing God. Some of you guys are arguing God, i'm arguing the morals, which none of you guys truly put down, unless it sounds stupid (which i'll get into later).
Some atheist act like they know everything. If they had so much knowledge from Math and Science, then they would follow it and FIND ways to become a millionaire. Oh, money doesn't matter to you? Oh, but if u found a way to become a millionaire, ya'll can improve your "Science THEORIES"
God GUIDES you to become what you want to be. Which everyone wants...Happiness.
Don't get me wrong either. I can be in a relationship with someone who is Atheist. I don't push my beliefs on anyone. Maybe i'm passionate about this because i mean what i say, but i struggled on not saying what I mean.
i think Casey and i would get a long a lot though...
anyway, the rules i follow, are simply "Basic Moral Values". -Casey
I use God's perspective on WHY i should or shouldn't do it, and that's what helps me improve n help me find my "Faith". to me, he's like the ultimate parent. Since i've followed his rules, i doubled my money, and improved on my new goal, by FAR. If i used my real parents or societys, or even ya'll that dont see nothing wrong with that, then i think i probably would fail or not be the best i could be.
Like i said earlier. As stupid as it sounds for "masterbating to porn" as a sin. It does make sense to avoid adultery if you want to be happy. You will appreciate your girl/guy more because you will fiend them. Then he says another one, don't put anyone above him. Which, really means, watch what you're doing, or your love for others will destroy you, them (the relationship). Which, makes sense too. It's really about Balance. That's the main thing God (or man made written work) is teaching, imo.
I live by the words. If my girl wanna watch porn together tho, i'm down. bc if we are together, i know im going to be with her.
I'm currently working on not bragging about things I have. I'm killing my Pride, and working on patience.
