Merry Christmas all...

I will be with the family and not here that much, which is what all you mofo's should be doing.. get your ass off the computer and spend time with your families!!! (apart from Shadows)
That's what Christmas should be about, getting drunk and high with family and friends.

Imagine there's no StreetHop
It's easy if you try
No "Thanks" below us
Above us only replies
Imagine all the people
Living for Google AdSense

Imagine there's no iPhone
It woulda taken longer for Android to come
and nothing to take sides on
And no religion too
Imagine Duke
no more passionate debates for him

You may say that I'm a loser
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no VIP
I wonder if StreetHop can (survive)
No need for torrents or piracy
A mobile friendly forum
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a loser
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Android was in development prior to the existence of the iPhone, Mr. 14.

They took their time and got it right :)

Yeah, the iPhone just appeared out of thin air. Give me a fucking break. BEGONE!

Go back to your Google thread.
Apple took the idea of a constantly connected smartphone with built-in application store from Danger, who did this back in 2002 with the Danger Hiptop, later rebranded in the US and Europe as the T-Mobile Sidekick.

Danger was founded by Andy Rubin, who in mid-2005 left Danger to start a new company - Android, Inc (later purchased by Google).

At the same time (mid 2005), Apple worked with Motorola to create the ROKR E1, a pretty standard non-smartphone. Apple's involvement was nothing more than creating a mobile version of iTunes to use on this phone.

9 months, after this, in Q1 2006, it was pretty clear that Apple had failed epically with this path. They decided to build their own device in-house and the iPhone was born, by which time there had already been considerable development on the Android platform.

The iPhone was announced a year later at Macworld '07.

Sorry, you lose.

Did you also hear that the tablet has been in the works longer than the iPhone?

Seriously, go back to your Google thread and unleash your fanboism there. YOu're ruining this one.

Well, that's no surprise. Tablet computing is a section of technology that has existed prior to smartphones. My cousin had a tablet computer nearly a decade ago.

The difference is that mobile OS's are finally powerful enough to use on tablets. There's already some great tablets out running Android, so Apple are already behind. By the time they launch, there'll be a whole range of great Android tablets from well known manufacturers such as Dell et al.

However, if the so called "iSlate" runs that same ass garbage iPhone OS.....no thanks.

Yeah I read that article too....

An Apple engineer enters Steve Jobs office and hands him a tablet. Steve Job says "wtf is this shit? what good does thing do besides surfing the net while taking a shit? YOU'RE FUCKING FIRED!"

A Google engineer, wearing pajamas, enters an office of a guy with a tie on - because nobody really knows who runs the place - and hands him a tablet. The tie guy says "Great, more web traffic for us! We'll even release our apps on Windows Mobile because it is not Google's interest to give the Android platform any significant advantage. Google's core business model is to have a firm grip on web traffic!!"
