On November 1st, 2005 Gobi will be releasing a new photo book titled "Thru my Eyes". This book contains photos of 2pac that were shot during the last 8 months of 2pac's life. We at MobFiggaz.net had a chance to catch up to Gobi and ask him a few questions about the release of his new book.
It is a rare occasion that any man would be so lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with one of the world's most Greatest Rappers to ever live. No man could be more lucky enough than himself, Gobi. This man is truely amazing. And for the new fans who dont know him. He was the guy behind the scenes Producing/Directing some of the hottest 2pac videos to ever be produced, Such videos as "2 of Americaz Most Wanted", "Made Niggaz", "Hit Em Up" and "How Do You Want It". Just having the opportunity of speaking to this man I came to realise he still holds a big place for 2pac in his heart and wants the same thing as all of us fans do, which is to keep 2pac's Legacy Alive forever and keeping the media from distorting it. Enjoy the Interview.

MobFiggaz.net: First, thanks for taking time with us today. I really appreciate it. I am a huge fan of the work you did with 2pac.
MobFiggaz.net: OK you have a new book coming out titled "Thru My Eyes", Can you tell us a little about that?
I had a production company with tupac just before he passed. We had amongst other things, a three picture deal he was shopping around hollywood. he was very excited about all that laid ahead for him and us. he was ready to take over hollywood. as you know i had the pleasure of directing some, and producing most of his music videos. It was during the filming of most of these, that the photos were taken. I had the photos in this book locked up and hidden for about 4 years not knowing what to do. one day i decided it was time to reach out to a couple of publishers to see if they would be interested in putting a photo book out on pac. Atria/Simon and Schuster thought it would be a great idea. Four years later and the book is coming out. I didn't want to make it just a photo book, because i really have felt since his passing, (other than his loyal fans) the media has spread misinformation on tupac and what he was all about. In putting this book out, i hope to educate the -tupac-ignorant of the world and perhaps even share -with his fans- aspects of his personality, his dreams and a bit of his humor.
MobFiggaz.net: I read there's going to be some unreleased pictures of tupac in this book, about how many?
I'd say that about 95% of the photos in this book have never been seen. i think pac might be laughing right now (or mad at me), knowing that i am exposing a photo of him in a wig (he was doing a rick james impersonation).
MobFiggaz.net: When were all these pictures taken?
These photos were taken during the last 8 months of his life. The 8 months I knew him.
MobFiggaz.net: I had seen the preview cover of the book in which afeni shakur's name is up at the top, is she involved in the release of the book?
Mrs. Shakur Davis was gracious to write a forward for this book. Also a portion of the proceeds will go to the performing arts center she is building in atlanta (www.tasf.org)
MobFiggaz.net: Are you going to play a role in the production of "Live 2 Tell." Tupac's only screenplay?
