lol. less words = less descriptive = you hear the words but take them in from your point of view, which will obscure the point. let's say someone had some problem. a girl who dumped them, a friend who backstabbed them, etc. they bitch about it in a thread. you post "get over yourself, move on!". if you're depressed, needy, emo, it'll be like salt in a wound. if you're full of self-esteem you adapt to that attitude. very generalizing, but you get the point. those people will take the words in, and deal with them from their respective viewpoints, which differ greatly. whatever the poster's intentions were when he gave the advice will go lost in the readers' own perception of whether or not it is doable.
refer to chronic's discussion with aron about cats, where he said "you might as well have said 'dog good, cat bad'". essence-less posts will only serve a purpose given that whoever's reading shares the posters point of view, which is unlikely. i have had those meaningless posts and conversations throughout life, but they are not entertaining to me anymore. they give me nothing. it's not communication, we might as well grunt and make loud noises at eachother. or post random letters after eachother. i grew out of that when i stopped being a teenager.
this is also why i chose to use "unintelligent". if you're satisfied with bullshit commentary and conversation because you don't care, fine. then i don't come on this forum for you. but if i have a point that i feel is important to emphasize, i will do it in a way that's understandable for as many people as possible. i'll say things to show people who have one point of view that i understand that point of view. i will show people with another point of view that i also understand their point of view. then i try to explain what i mean in a way that would make sense to both parts.
so DP is your typical i don't give a fuck, i fuck mad bitches type of guy. he doesn't need people to talk him through simple things. i don't know his age, but he's maybe grown-up too. there are younger members here, more insecure members, more geeky members. i appreciate those also, and while some of you may feel that some of my dragging out points is unnecessary, i assure you that it is not. at least one person will appreciate a detail that most people thought to be given. i'll dare go so far as to say that this very attitude contributes to why a lot of young people feel insecure in the first place. just because you feel like a god in your own world and never question your own opinions doesn't mean others don't. been there done that, if people had explained shit to me more thoroughly when i was younger i would achieve a greater understanding of these "simple things that everybody know" at a far younger age. which again would only be beneficial to me.
so to sum up, i consciously write long posts and overemphasize simple details because i know how easy it is to get lost in your own ego and look down on people who aren't as "cool". and i consciously say fuck all you people who don't like my posts. either it's because your feeble brain can't comprehend more than a number of sentences at a time, or it's becase you're a stuck-up asshole. i have also consciously decided to never buckle in. which means, if you don't like my long posts you can put me on ignore.
edit: didn't mean aron's post was unneccesary, just that i try to be descriptive to avoid the very critique he received. i care more for being overly descriptive than not descriptive enough.
