Forget what you heard, Better Dayz is a CLASSIC

#1
Cmon, theres just to many damn good songs on this cd for it not to be, sure some of the remixes could of been a lot better, but for the most part, in my opinon these were great songs to me:

Still Ballin (Never heard the og, but I love this beat)
When We Ride On Our Enemies (Way better than OG beat IMO)
Changed Man
Never Be Peace (Love this beat)
Mama's Just A Little Girl (Classic)
Street Fame (yes OG was better but this was a good attempt)
Late Night (Another Great Song)
Watcha Gonna Do (Am I the only one who loves this beat?)
Ghetto Star (Classic)
My Block (Remix is 10x better than og IMO)
Thugz Mansion (Do I really need to say anything?)
Never Call You Bitch Again (Great song IMO)
Better Dayz (Classic of course)
U Can Call (Feeling the beat on this one)
Military Minds (Tight Beat goes great with the song)
Fame (Classic)
Catchin Feelins (Classic)
There U Go (Beat goes well)
This Life I Lead (Tight beat, I actually like this better than the OG)
Who Do you Believe In? (What more can I say?)
They Don't Give A Fuck About Us (Classic song in its original form)

So 20 outta 25 songs not including intro and outro that I really enjoy, a true classic in my opinion, I applaud Amaru for this effort. Anybody else agree?

To bad they didn't put the same effort with LTTG.

never be peace is an Aladdin beat
military mind is some Zoolander stuff
this life i lead = ruined
:thumb: You so right, that shit was horrible. When i first heard that shit i was like wtf is this, some ppl actually like Military mindz & Never be Peace (antfirex 2). Never be Peace is one of the worst remixes ever, that shit was str8 up garbage, i like to listen to a Britney Spears song better than Never be Peace remix. I'm glad we have the OG caus shit is str8 up fire. I can go on and on talking about every song but i made my point.

Conclusion:
Better Dayz is besides L2tg the worst CD from 2pac ever, this doesn't even come close to being an average album so it can NEVER be Classic, you must be krazy.
The OGs are tight of course and some of the remixes but most the remixes are fucked up.

This Life I Lead (Tight beat, I actually like this better than the OG) - i hate the new beat, the original in my opinion was one of pac's best tracks

the same goes for Never B Peace, one of my favorite pac tracks never the less they changed the beat but they took off marvelous and storm

i liked the album but these two tracks annoyed me so fuckin much

The first 4 songs on cd 2 are classics imo.

You start of with My Block, that shit is classic. Good job done.

Then you got thugz mansion, now you have to give them props for this amaru beat. I dont like the chorus too much, but the beat has got some really nice parts to it, like that woman singing sound in the last verse. That a good song.

Then Never Call you bitch again, is some nice shit, good combo, tyreese and pac, that was a good song.

Then better Dayz with isley is just classic. nuff said.

Thats mainly the only songs I really enjoy, the first 4 on CD 2.

i quite like the never be peace remix, although the og is amazing, the remix gets my vote.....

the topic in street hop about best album intro's, needs to have better days in it. The intro and the way it goes into still ballin' is ridiculously good. The way the pressure is built up, then unleashed by pac spitting fire. What made it better was it was yet another unreleased cd, that had been waiting for with such anticipation. When i put that in my cd player first time and i heard that, i was literally blown away

man how was still ballin shitty??? it had some tight lyrics and you needed a club type song to get these other peoples attention. Still Ballin is fucking tight, Street Fame, They Don't Give A Fuck About Us, My Block, and When We ride on our Enemies were fuckin tight too. Yes there was some bad songs on thier but overrall i thought the album was pretty fuckin good. I can't say its classic cuz i havent really took the time 2 just listen 2 the whole album.

The thing is, a lot of the OGs sound the same, Never Be Peace, When We Ride On Our Enemies those tracks in OG form had blues song type beats, beats that sounded temporary. I like the fact that Better Dayz

I'm an advocate of keeping the OGs, but when i hear a remix that sounds good, I will give it its props.

Better Dayz = damn good cd.

When We Ride On Our Enemies (OG had blues beat that didn't match song's intensity, yet the remix is not that great either).

Street Fame(one of best remixes ever, piano excellent, the best part is when the chorus comes in, and you get the dragging effect of the beat).

Still Ballin (what Eminem should of thought about when remixing Thug 4 Life)

Neva Be Peace (Remix is almost perfect, OG had blues feel to it, but can get boring) (The part they fucked up on the Remix is the stupid rattlling bag sound, too gimmicky)

Whatcha Gonna Do (different, never wanted Pac on a dirty south beat, but this is one of the few that have a certain Pac feel to it)

-Fair Xchange, U Can Call, There U Go (All these tracks sound like All Eyez on Me style, yet people hate on em) I guess alot of people didn't like All Eyez on Me, even that album had a few lackluster productions, but it's still a classic.

-Thugz Mansion(Anthony Hamilton) - again, a great production, Anthony Hamilton adds soul to the song, without having to use a borrowed beat.

-Neva Call U BA- excellent production, Tyrese does his thang, and notice that Tyrese doesn't need to yell his name out anywhere on the song, he lets Pac own the track, respect.

-Military Mindz (OG uses a looped beat that gets boring, remix is superior, more complex)

-This Life I Lead (superior to OG, OG sounds just like Pac rapping about solely street shit, but remeber Pac died, so I like the approach on the remix, it sounds more like a prophecy of death type beat. It allows Pac to sound like he's looking back on his life, now that it's over.

I'm someone who appreciates old school music, and even i didn't know how much 2Pac sampled of old songs, so i'm not upset when some of the remixes use new creative beats. I was kind of upset, when I realized how many of the classic Pac songs (Me Against the World album, etc) use old school beatz. Some of the best songs on Me Against the World are borrowed beats. Yet it is still my favorite Pac album. Just shows how important it was for Pac to put down the lyrics more than anything.

I'm a supporter of new creative beatz put behind Pac, like on BetterDayz, so his career can be balanced out w/old samples and also original stuff. L2TG is the worst example of remixing in the history of remixing, while BetterDayz isn't perfect, but pretty damn close. Just my opinion.
