Do you curse a lot?

I rarely swear, I just prefer not to. And I think it sounds weird for me, like i'm trying too hard. It just doesn't fit my accent or my personality. I don't over do it with the "big words" either because I think it seems elitist and I don't want to end up alienating myself from other people for no good reason.

IDC if other people do, but I do dislike those girls who like to get over familiar by calling each other (and me) b*tch. It really annoys me.

Yeah, with regards to the last sentence. That reeks of immaturity. So does needless swearing.

Omg, I think I'm finally growing up :(

yay, for the first half of this thread I mostly thought that I'm weird. The last few posts is what I feel too, so it seems to be all good.

I don't like hearing others swear, guy or girl, but with girls especially it's a huge turn-off.

I've been cutting back more and more, swearing just to myself or at myself internally, but the other day I was in the study room and I overheard two girls next to me talking. Every other sentence had "F this" and other name-calling words. I lost respect for those two girls, especially because they're in my class and I thought of that as "nice, well-to-do, polite" girls.

I can only imagine how others have perceived me in the past when I was doing the same thing as these girls. Which is why I've stopped. There's more to me than misuse of vulgar words.

I feel this thread has become my diary.

Oh yeah, I have started saying slightly different words to replace naughty words. (I have young nephews and a niece now so I'm trying to clean it up lol)

Shit = Shoot
Fuck = Fudge

Instead of fuck, I say Oh dear. It's definitely very gay, and I do it at work. But I prefer it to swearing in front of my son.

In English I say "crap" when I want to say "fuck" but don't want to curse that much. I think it's not that bad.
I also often make the mistake of saying that something or someone is gay. In Vancouver a lot of people really were.

This is worse than swearing. C'mon. Your artsy, find other words to express yourself =P

It's like in Croatian; swear words have a lot more aggressively to it, and it's a lot more dirty. Which is hilarious. :D
I speak a couple of languages... Croatian/Bosnian/Serbian, English, French, Spanish and I can read Italian and some Danish, but no swearing can be compared to Yugo swearing. Especially the Serbians...

Holy shit they are vulgar...

Here are a couple of rough translations from some of my Serbian friends...

"Fuck Jesus on his Cross..."
"May God fuck you in the ass..."
"I'm fucking Virgin Mary..."
"Fuck your mother in the mouth..."
"Fuck your dead grandmother..."

But what's amazing is that those sentences ended with (respectively)

"... that was a great goal!"
"... if I'm sick because of you tonight!"
"... I can't believe that she did that to you!"
"... if you are lying!"
"... if you don't give me the remote!"

I love Serbians.

I have that problem to.. with reference to saying something is gay. I get it from gaming, whenever something happens that pisses me off my go to response is "that's so gay." Thought I mean it in a "ghey" vs "gay" lol. Luckily, i've not offended anyone as of yet.

Any person who considers a word offensive when the word itself carries no intent, then they are pretty pathetic to be bothered by such a trivial thing.

If the word carries intent, such as hate, then it is offensive. If there is no intent, then its just a fucking word.

Nigger. I don't hate them. But the word is direct and concise, you get a rush.

At the store, when the Indian clerk gives you $5 when you gave him $20 for a $10 purchase. "Man, he just niggered me out of $5.
When you're waiting to turn out of a parking lot and someone is driving and it looks like he's going straight, so you wait, then 10 feet before the turn he turns on his indicator. "Ever heard of a turn signal, you nigger?"

When you're watching TV in the dark and it starts floating. "Drop it, nigger!"

Not all these cases are Africans. They can be white or Indian or Chinese or whatever.

"Gay" and "retard(ed)" I still say because I don't care.
