DJ Depth Vs. ............ ( Hymnz maybe? )

im about to start the session. just thought my post count could use a boost 
since this won't be a club beat, i won't be focusing on the bassline much. the piano will probably make an appearance, as will the violin and strings
maybe some other stuff. i will try to keep it simple, yet distinctive.

by the way, i will be using Reason for the entire beat, and since i haven't used it in a while and will only be using stock sounds (i just backed all my refills up and have no use for it since i use my hardware most now) i might have a harder time than usual...
Reason is very easy to use though, which makes up for its lack (my opinion, dont flame!) of original sounds.
I have to finish this beat within a day from now because i have some business, and my car needs fixing.
god knows i'm not the man to do it, so everything plays hand in hand. so my beat will be here in 24 hours or less.

i don't know why i tend to make really weird beats when i'm using Reason entirely. maybe i should have used some external sounds as creativty sparks or something.

Didn't really like yours. Didn't really like your instruments. It would have been better if you played different notes. Bassline was ok. Don't be scared to add some good bass to it, ok.

Your beat was alright. I didn't like tha violin type instrument. Piano was ok, you coulda played some different notes on it though. Drums were pretty cool. I like tha kick you used. Again, just like with Hymnz, don't be afraid to add some nice bass in there. Add a little sub bass in there or somethin.
My vote goes to DJ Depth. You said this was a dark beat battle, but neither of your beats were dark.

oh, and-
i tried adding some more bass but it really drowned out the rest of the song. lowering the volume of it did nothing. the only time a better bassline sounded good was when it was muted. i tried switching it for a bassline with more character (somewhat acoustic ones) but they really clashed with the other instruments and i just wanted to get it over with.

i like the idea of the string stabs, the piano is maybe a bit intrusive, but i like the vocoder use thats real nice, overall i wud say a nice attempt not as dark as i would have expected but nice anywayz

Nice intro, the drums are a lil low, maybe this is just my pref but i like my drums loud and kickin so u can feelin em' beat is amybe a bit repetitive nice lil break down im feelin that. i would feel the piano should maybe have had sum kind of effects on it to take the edge off it a bit bit nice attempt overall.
