Cool Edit Mixing question...

Aiight Im used to using CakeWalk, but since I lost the disk I have to use Cool Edit - which is better, just a bit more complicated. Anyways, on CakeWalk whenever U played a song, each individual track would have a bar that displayed the level of the track [like Cool Edit displays at the bottom for the entire overall track]. This made mixing hella easy. My question, is do they have this option on Cool Edit? If so where is it at? Gracias.

Peace

I havent used cool edit in ages, but I remember if you dragged the individual track tools column (left of the track, where the balance and volume controls are) more options came up. See if that has it.

Ill fuck around with it when I get home though and let you know.

Yeah I got that...but theres nothing showing the volume of the tracks...like no green/red colorwave thing [I really cant think right now sorry]. It shows the mixer where the wavelevel should be...but theres nothing indicating the level [U canonly adjust the level]

heres you're solution

the purpose of the DB meter is to monitor clipping right? the rule of thumb is to never go over 0dB(the red)

so if you have clipping, just solo each track so you know what it is that is clipping on you, so you can fix it.

...how the fuck are you supposed to properly mix down a track then if you don't know the levels of each individual track?
