so if i forced you to drink water continuously, one glass after another endlessly, and allowed you to go to the bathroom, you think you could live through that? i don't fuckin' think so. the thing is this: yes, the body takes care of itself, and it has counter-measures, like working too hard and getting tired. but since the question was posed and you didn't answer it, i'll ask it again: what would happen if you continued working? the body's "counter-measures" can only handle so much. if i kept forcing you to drink water endlessly, your bladder can only send so much of it out at a time, and eventually your stomach would swell, and a whole lot of bad shit would happen. the same with too mch salt. for someone who claims to know so much about the human body i don't see how you can not know these things.
You have issues with ultimate conceptions. Life is not like that.

LMFAO! yeah like the body aint made up of 80% water.

Are you saying water is detrimental to health? Too much water in my diet makes me piss, it don't kill me, lol.
Look up water intoxication. There have been marathon runners who drop dead because they drink too much water.

You know less than my doctor.
I'm not a doctor and i have no interest in reading up on medical conditions. So I know less than your doctor or mine. If I wanted to I could possibly read up on diseases but I go to a doctor for that information.

YES! I dislike the media and its scientific premisses. Especially with regards to nutrition. I am a Chef.
So you hate truth

What would you call it then? You don't think think that the Governments involvement on tobacco/alcohol/drugs/medication is related to TAX? Tax is one of the biggest wars that the Government has on it's citizens. It is the Governments form of war on its citizens. Government doesn't ask for tax, the Government takes it, through whatever means. That is warfare!
I don't know what to call it, but I wouldn't call it warfare because its not a war.

Dude, that is Ninja Philosophy. The devil can only get to the body through its nine holes. How else could could the Devil effect the body?
But there is no devil

If you drink too much water, your kidneys will not be able to work fast enough to get rid of it and your brain will swell inside your hard skull and will squeeze vital regions regulating functions like breathing and you will die. As has happened to many people. And trust me, if you eat too much salt you will die immediately. Salt is not a toxin? Too much salt becomes a toxin. Too much water becomes a toxin. Too much vitamins... Too much sleep... Too much reading... Too much sex... Too many apples...Too much fish oil... Too much fiber. Do i need to go on or have you grasped the concept yet? Too much Tupac...well, that's the only thing you can't get too much of. The exception to the rule.

Yeah, got you there :p

You are as bad as the nutrition scientists I have talked about. If you drink too much water then you shit it out your ass! your kidneys don't have to deal with it. This is called 'inter-counter effect'. If you don't understand that concept then you either have never heard of it before or, you can't think for yourself.

Right now I feel like committing suicide from salt overdose. Tell me, have you ever read that about someone on the news? Do you see how Media fucks with your mind???!!!!

Here comes the word over-indulgence.
That word has been the center of the discussion, actually.

An over-indulgence of salt.

=

Too much salt. Not "a lot" of salt, too much salt.

An intake of salt that is so high it can have significant effects on your body's health. An intake of salt that, apparently, the average person is consuming, which is why the media is reporting this: so people know you shouldn't over-indulge in salt because a lot of people think "salt is good for you, so how can it be bad for me?" or "my body can handle it".

"Drinking too much water can lead to a condition known as water intoxication and to a related problem resulting from the dilution of sodium in the body, hyponatremia. Water intoxication is most commonly seen in infants under six months of age and sometimes in athletes. A baby can get water intoxication as a result of drinking several bottles of water a day or from drinking infant formula that has been diluted too much. Athletes can also suffer from water intoxication. Athletes sweat heavily, losing both water and electrolytes. Water intoxication and hyponatremia result when a dehydrated person drinks too much water without the accompanying electrolytes."

In ancient China they use to eat large amounts of salt to perform suicide. Go drink some salt water, you'll be just fine!

Maybe I was vague, but not without reason. I am talking about AWARENESS of what you give your body, and how you treat it. If you abuse your body, then expect bad things. But if you KNOW YOURSELF and test that fact, you can only benefit from your own actions. If that involves exercise, diet, training, or just general living. What I am saying is you need to know yourself, your own body and its functions; as well as your body's enemies.
You weren't vague, just off-topic. You're trying to explain to us the concept of being aware of how you treat your body (which is actually very patronizing) but the discussion is just about that. Whoever the fuck is reporting that salt, in high enough quantities, can be hazardous to your health. They're reporting this so you're aware of this fact. And it's a good thing they're reporting this because unless you're working in a funded lab you're not going to find that out for yourself. And you can try to test the waters with your health but that will be your ass. A bad diet can catch up with you years later and without those textbooks and the people that wrote them you wouldn't know what to do about it or what caused it. Testing your body is not smart, you only do that when it's a necessity or when you forfit your physical health for other purposes.

Salt water makes me sick instantly. That is my body refusing what i am giving it. Salt is good for body but not in large quantities.

I disagree with the comment on drinking too much water. Unless you are being force fed bottles of water, water intake shouldn't be a problem. The body relinquishes thirst in the state of fluid abundance. Again this is counter effect. Over/under indulgence both produce counter effective measures.

So we agree, too much salt is bad for you.

You're disagreeing with basic science then. There have been many documented cases of water intoxication. Read up on why it happens and your mind might be BLOWN with reality

And who is Coco Ballantyne? Do you know this guy, what he does, what is his profession etc, or believe everything he writes? Are you basing your opinions on media, or personal knowledge/experience? I like to philosophical if you don't know. I question everything. Fuck Coco Ballantyne.
Leah Betts - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Leah Betts (November 11, 1977 - November 16, 1995) was a schoolgirl from Latchingdon in Essex, England. She is notable for the extensive media coverage and moral panic that followed her death several days after her 18th birthday, on November 11, during which she took an ecstasy tablet, then collapsed four hours later into a coma, from which she did not recover. Subsequently, it was discovered that water intoxication, rather than ecstasy, was the cause of her death.

Fatal water intoxication

The patient reported here was a 64 year old woman with a known history of mitral valve disease but no other relevant past history. On the evening before her death, she began compulsively drinking water in vast quantities, estimated at between 30 and 40 glasses, and this was interspersed with episodes of vomiting. She became hysterical and also distressed, shouting that she had not drunk enough water. She declined medical attention but continued to drink water after she had gone to bed. She later fell asleep and died some time later.

Woman in water-drinking contest dies - Life - MSNBC.com

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - A woman who competed in a radio station’s contest to see how much water she could drink without going to the bathroom died of water intoxication, the coroner’s office said Saturday.

An inquest has heard today how a 35-year-old man literally drank himself to death after consuming too much water.

Shaun McNamara was found on the floor of his bathroom last September after downing a massive quantity of water.

It was initially believed he had suffered a heart attack - but a post-mortem revealed that he had downed so much fluid rapidly that his brain had swollen.

Need any more examples? Or are you going to dismiss these as MEDIA PROPAGANDA

The first example was of someone who abused their own body. I have heard of Leah Betts. Drugs are bad mmkay. The media probably printed that to make the family feel better.

The second example was an OAP without a healthy body, due to her age. She had a death ticket.

The woman was someone who disregarded her own bodily functions! I have mentioned this already.

In most of the above cases there was disregard for ONESELF. First mistake.
