How many people experience these and under what circumstances?
To be clear, by a blackout I'm referring to waking up the following morning and not remembering everything that happened the night before while out drinking. They can be both mild and drastic. Sometimes you may remember everything except for how you got home or sometimes you may forget the whole second half of your night.
Different people respond in different ways. For example, I have friends that puke every single time they get drunk. Period. I have friends who rarely puke, but if they've had more than their limit, they will.
I practically never ever puke after drinking. But a good deal of the time, I'll forget what happened after a certain time. I know what my limit is. If I surpass that limit, that's when I tend to not remember things. It's extremely annoying. I would much rather just go home and throw up and remember everything clearly.
I'm not sure why it happens but I tend to think that it's really because once I reach a certain level of intoxication coupled with the fact that it's very late and I'm profoundly tired, I kind of just stand there in a semi-conscious state where I will respond if someone talks to me, but I'm really not fully awake. And since I'm technically not completely awake, I don't have any recollection of what happens during those times.
