an event that changed your life

I thought about it and i have to say there is no event that really changed me as a person, the way i look at certain things or what goals i want to achieve. Not the death of a family member nor the end of my relationship.

Little things yes, but i wouldnt go that far and claim any event has changed me in a major way.

When my gram died, I reevaluated the value of life. It pissed me off that she wanted to live and that wasn't an option for her. Life was no longer an option, made me angry for a long time. So, I stopped talking to people who had life as an option but preferred a slow death. Anyone who does an insane amount of drunks, is an alcoholic, is suicidal or just a bum with no ambitions I no longer talk to. I know it sounds harsh, but I can't watch them waste their lives when there are people out there who want to live but no longer have that option.

Do you live your entire life in complete absolutes like this one? The bolded part is one of the more stupid things I've read in a while.

Moving to a different country. Think things went downhill even before that but it was definitely a major contributing factor.

My brother losing his leg changed my life a lot. Then 3 friends dying of course. One in particular changed me more than the other two big time. He died of heart failure aka mixed too many pills alcohol and yay. I pretty much stopped drinking and doing drugs cus of it. He had a problem, my firends still have a problem, I quit. I decided by myself that some shit just aint worth it, they thought the opposite, so opposite ways is where we went. I dont want my Mom to go through what any of my firends mothers did so i believe I made the right choice, no matter how slim the chances are of anything happening to me. I felt brand new afterwards and still do. And my brother losing his leg changed me cus it was a bitch pushing around his wheelchair forever, yay for life sized barbie legs, from the knee down at least.

Motorcycle accident. His legs like wrapped a telephone pole, they were able to save one of em but the other they had to amputate, he still has his knee so it could be worse. It was actually on some cartoon bullshit. He was accelerating out of a turn and his tire hit a banana peel, I swears, and he went and indo'd into the curb.
