Biggies album could very well be a single disc release if you take out the intro and his interlude.......considerin' it was back in the day and one of the first of its kind, I think they spread it out into 2 cd's just to match 2pac's.........If you look at artist's cd's today, a full 20 song tracklist can be put out on one cd....IE: (i think all eminem's albums have 20 tracks each besides infinite)...............and the most common cd-r holds 700mb or about 80:00 minutes........

for the comparison, and what album I think is better goes to 2pac.....All Eyes on Me has no skits, no intro besides Ambitions and there's no fuckin' 1min long skits intro-ing the song...IE: Back to Cali.....seriously they should re-master the album without that shit in it...or seperate the skits into there own track selection....that way i don't have to hear puffy wake big's ass up everytime I wanna hear goin' back to cali, or even nasty boy, the intro is so long it could be made into it's own track selection.....I think that's the biggest flaw on that album......other than puffy on every other track......

Puff and Suge both have the oppurtunity to make a lot of money on a debuting double lp. If you ask me, the overall 'theme' of both these albums is very influenced by the producer and the label, hardly the artist. But in the light of the producers control over the albums, both artists did manage to break through and make a few songs that are real.

AEOM wins. Too many hot joints on it. 50 cents cd had 21 songs. Biggie's album had 22 songs technically. It could've been a single disc.

Neither album is flawless, and neither is the best from each artist. However,

AEOM >>> LAD

first of all, Eyez had a much bigger overall impact on the rap game, and though both albums had some filler, the apex on Pac's double cd is greater. Also, Big's album had alot of "death hype" to really garner the album extra success, but everyone knows that it is AEOM which is the blueprint for how a mainstream album should be made. It was a deluxe street album packaged to cater to all types of audiences while still appealing to hip hop die hards. Almost every mainstream MC has used formulas from AEOM at one time or another. LAD itself is influenced from AEOM. Big saw what Pac was doing......he dropped the first double cd in hip hop history, sold 7 million+, and next thing you know everyone and their momma is dropping a double album.

Also, I prefer the production on AEOM.....alot of LAD's production was too boring for me, Eyez was nice and hard-hitting from almost start to finish.

Its kinda silly droping such a post on a 2pacboard, but ill drop my two cents on the matter:

like my man ElitePete4k points out, both these albums were hugely influenced by the producer and the label. But i beleive AEOM was more influence by other people the LAD.

First off, personally, i think LAD is better then AEOM. But I like AEOM more the LAD cause i love Pac's style. Now this might not make sense to most of you but listen up.

The AEOM was a project to make money Hellrazor1978 points this out as AEOM being a blueprint for how a mainstream album should be made. It was more about Pac making up for lost time or money. Now, this shows that AEOM was not really Pac and was not really Pac at his best, it was him making an album for the masses. Now LAD was Bigs best project, he put alot of energy in making that album, and off course wanted something that would touple AEOM, that album was Big pulling all the stops, which made the album great and maybe even better then AEOM, but Pac would always win out on raw talent, AEOM is dope, but not really <MATW, MDK pac. And the MATW,MDK pac is the one we most admire.

^^^I see what you're saying, with MATW and DK7 being more pure Pac.

AEOM got a shitload of bangers still though, and some of my fav Pac songs ever are on there. It isnt Pac's best album, but its his most COMPLETE album. Albums got everything on it......raw thugged out shit, club hits, classic collaberations, deeper/more insightful songs, etc. I think LAD kinda borrowed from this idea of making a 2-cd set whose sheer scope would make it appeal to alot of people.

Besides AEOM, my other fav double cd is Wu-Tang Forever. Of all the major hip hop artists to drop a double cd, Pac and the Wu did it best IMO. Big, Nas, Bone, and OutKast all dropped nice double cd's but AEOM is still the standard to be measured by. I kinda put Wu Forever up there also, because even though it didnt have the impact that Eyez did, it was, lyrically and musically, the Wu at their finest (yes, better then 36 Chambers).

AEOM was bound to be a classic, come'on - 'Pac going to jail, coming out fired up and ready, he went straight to the studio to start on it - pure dedication!

I reckon everyone knew as soon as 'Pac got out that his next album would be a killer. AEOM delivered.
