First of all, the absinthe u can buy in the store isn't "real" ..... all those stories comes from absinthe the drug, not absinth the liquor. period.

The right way 2 drink absinthe is to take some sugar, dip it into the absinthe, burn it until it's brown and drop it back into the drink. (all this is happein on a spoon, don't try it with your fingers lol)...well, there u go then.

aaannddd your wrong about the absinthe drug/drink remark.. ..but thanks anyway

no I'm not, there is barley wormwood in there.

Why is absinthe not sold in the United States?
Absinthe is not sold in the United States because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not allow the sales of spirited beverages that contain thujone. Real absinthe is made using wormwood, which contains thujone.
BTW

Absinthe is an anise-flavored liqueur distilled with oil of wormwood, a leafy herb. Absinthe also contains flavorful herbs such as hyssop, lemon balm, and angelica. Wormwood is Artemisia absinthum. The active ingredient is thujone, a neurotoxin. The drink is distinguished by its blue-green clarity, due to its chlorophyll content. It was traditionally served with water and a cube of sugar; the sugar cube was placed on an "absinthe spoon" and the liquor was drizzled over the sugar into the glass of water. The sugar helped take the bitter edge from the absinthe; when poured into the water, the liquor turned milky wh
