3 men walk into a hotel needing a room for the night, they ask the manager how much a room for the night is, he says £30, so the 3 men all put £10 in and get a room between them.
10 minutes later the manager realises he has overcharged the men for the room by £5, as the room should have only cost £25, so he calls the bellboy over and explains the situation while handing over a £5 note for the bellboy to return to the men.
On the way up in the lift the bellboy realises he cant split £5 between 3 people, so he swaps it for 5 pound coins he has in his pocket and decides to give the men £1 each and keep the remaining £2 for himself.
So, if each man paid £10 to start with, but then each got a £1 back, that means they each paid £9 pound for the room, 3 x 9 = 27.
Plus the £2 the bellboy kept equals £29, where has the extra pound gone?
