8 Reasons You Should Stay the Hell Away From Eggs

That's a lot of protein. I was aiming for 200g.

It's 1.5gs to 2gs for every lb of weight. I weigh about 210 right now... 212 maybe. So to sustain my weight and be healthy I need 420gs of protein... To bulk I need more of course.

I lost core muscle when I was a vegetarian even with supplements. That means I lost the inner muscles that actually move the bones not just the muscles you see. That is VERY bad. And consider that your organs are muscles too.... THAT is unhealthy.

^^...

The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) has done much research on this subject and states that protein requirements for strength athletes (like bodybuilders) should be between 1.5 to 2 grams per day per kilogram of bodyweight. This equates to 0.7 to 0.9 grams per day per pound of bodyweight.
although ive read in other place that it should 1.5 to 2g per lbs body weight to build muscle as you stated.

Yeah, Ruk, I've never seen anything in the literature that would justify a bodybuilder taking more than 1.2 - 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Maybe if you're already at the top of your game and in competition you might do 2 g per pound, but for you, I can't see the reason to get more than 350 g a day at the high end. Are you going into competitive bodybuilding?
I already weigh 210lbs. And while Im not going into competitive bodybuilding, I am trying to get my body to the peak physical condition that I can. To me that is part of being healthy. I dont want to be Arnie by any means, but being in UFC type shape is what I am aiming for (not that I really look up to UFC fighters, but its the best imagery example I can give you.)

I do Martial Arts twice a week and gym three times a week. I burn through a LOT of protein and calories.

Im actually going to start taking Mass Gain powders. Because short of taking steroids I am finding it VERY hard to put on mass right now.

^^what height are you?

420g is excessive to me. can you even consume that much in a day? because iv read that your body can only digest about 25g of protein at once.

and you say thats just to sustain muscle? no way do you need that much to sustain muscle let alone build it.

also excessive protein intake can damage the kidneys.

there have been calls for more research into possible links between creatine and SADs.

ok i just read that you do martial arts, so yea you will need to consume more on those days.

try USN Muscle Fuel Anabolic. but there is some Creatine in that. and a lot of Carbohydrates.

^^ Carbs arent that bad. You should do a 40/40/20 split of protein, carbs and fats for optimal growth.

Im staying away from creatine, I just get bloated from it and I dont like it.

I'm 6'4", 210lbs.

I eat six times a day and take a Optimal Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey protein powder in the morning and after working out. That's only 24gs of protein per serving, so a total of 48gs from supplements.

And by no means am I huge. Lean at the moment and healthy yes, but not bulked up. To be honest right now I am just reversing the effects of a three year vegetarian diet. Here is a photo taken about a month ago.

If I were a body builder, I'd need close to 560g of protein a day. Since I'm not, I'll halve it and say 280, my weight. So 280g of protein?

Let's talk practicalities, Ruk. How often do you shit per day and how big is it? Two-part question.
Two or three times a day. Coincidentally that is what is recommended and considered healthy. As part of my balanced diet I eat a lot of fiber as well.

This might be a bit off-topic but the idea of me having to take shit 2 or 3 times a day kind of scares me. That's spending a lot of time shitting. Especially since shitting is more of a ritual to me and I can't shit anywhere else than at home. It would be.. problematic.

Also eating 6 times a day, wow. I used to eat 1 to 2 times/day not mentioning very little extra things. I've been healthy but I thought that I should change it and I did. But I also have to force myself to eat 3 times a day. I usually eat 2 times a day + a forced breakfast because I hate eating earlier than at 2-3pm so my breakfast is usually a small bottle of yoghurt or something similar. But I don't go to the gym and don't really care about how much what I'll have, I just eat whatever I want to eat whenever I feel I should eat.
I also just do some exercise here and there and I look fit. I'm satisfied. But I only have some muscles to maintain, I'm not a bodybuilder.

That protein formula doesn't apply to overweight people. So if you were a body builder, you would want to get the amount of protein you would need to maintain the weight you want to be, not the overweight that you are. So a 500-lb person who takes up bodybuilding doesn't want to be 500-lbs, but with muscles. So he wouldn't be taking 1000 g of protein a day. Figure out your ideal weight, and then multiply each pound by about 0.5 g, since you are not body building. If you want to weigh 250 lbs, about 100 grams a day is enough.
