Music auction

Lawyers for the Harris' also said they would ask that Mr Knight be held in contempt and jailed until he participates in the hearing to disclose his assets.

"He's had his last chance as far as we're concerned," Mr Goldberg said.

A further hearing was set for Tuesday to finalise the receivership and address the contempt request.

Mr Goldberg said he planned to ask the receiver to take ownership of the music library and auction it off.

When asked for a comment, Mr Knight's lawyer, Dermot Givens - who also did not attend the hearing - said: "We try our cases in the court and not in the press.

I doubt this will produce anything significant (i.e. The Chronic II etc). A few years ago I spoke to a former DR employee and he told me that trying to track down any material pre-95 would nothing short of impossible. That Suge and his people locked material away separately, sometimes at Suge's house or other private secure areas, not some master vault containing everything. I'm also convinced, like many people on the board, that the sole reason Amaru doesn’t have everything Pac did on Death Row is because Suge only handed over some of what he had, probably just the stuff Amaru knew about and requested.

A good example might be when Death Row released that Nu Mixx album. Remember when the promotional commercial came out that had Pac “talking about the album” (actually just all eyez on me) and Death Row’s press release said something like “newly discovered video footage thought to be lost..” How much you want to bet that was just said for legal reasons because Death Row never handed the video over to Amaru in the first place which they were probably obligated to do.

If anything good comes of this it will be the RIGHTS to release the music. Then any copies of tupac music floating around can be released by whoever’s got the rights. (DANTE!?!) haha

I'm not sure but doesn't Amaru have rights to all of Pac's deathrow material? As far as i've read, deathrow was obligated to hand all of pac's songs to Amaru and if this is true then his songs won't be auctioned off.

Yeah they have minus the rights of AEOM and DK7. I think (not 100% sure) Suge had to hand all the other songs. But offcourse he didn't it....

That's something that's strange. If officially turns out Suge didn't hand all those songs, aint it possible Amaru will claim the rights?
