22 year old guy having sex with a 16 year old girl

Hi. Long time reader, first time poster.

I found this in a fitness forum.

A guy, 22, wants to have sex with a girl who's 16. I'm the dad of a 1 year old daughter. I am worried about her enough as it is, but I cant think of how much I'd worry about this if this was my daughter. I'm angry about this guy doing this, am I right to be angry? What would you do if your daughter was in this situation?

When I was 16, 17 I remember that my friends (girls) were mostly into older guys and often lost their virginities with them. Also now I know many 21, 22 year old guys with 15, 16 year old girls (15 yo is already legal here).

Maybe it's different in other countries but that's how it is here and for me it's really normal. Also teenage girls are more likely to act like adults, using make up, wearing all that clothes etc.

^True but it's hard these days man. Once they get to the teenage years they don;t listen to parents and start listening to what's cool or in. If she falls with the wrong kind of group of friends she is pretty much fucked.

Now i understand why girls want to be with a 22 year old and shit. He is older and got a car and what not. But why in the world would a 22 year old want to be with a 16 year old? Honestly, i am 22, and if i was with a 16 year old i would never be able to look anybody i know straight in the face. That's low.

If its legal (as it would be in the UK) then I don't see what is wrong with it. If he was 32 then maybe there is a moral issue there. If she was 20 and he was 26 would you still be pissed of? Probably not. My parents have a 7 year age gap between them.

You should really one be worried if the age gap is too big or there is a law being broken.

I suppose growing up in a different society gives me a different opinion, to you a 16 year old is a child, here they are young adults, education after 16 is optional, most just go to work. Personally i'm not interested in 16 year olds, not because I do find them attractive because many are, my decision is really more based on a persons personally which I find more interesting in older girls, I'd probably wouldn't get involved with some one younger than 18, possibly a 17 year old if she was really attractive and thought on the same wave length.

my main thing is how are you ever gonna have a relationship with a 16 year old? i mean i'm all for love if it's real and all but anyone in their 18s-20s, think back to when you were sixteen. compare yourself to what you're like now. imagine that you're gonna have a girlfriend that you have no idea how she's gonna end up being like in the following years, she'll change from month to month almost. and all the little annoying things teenagers do that you only realize are annoying soon as you've experienced them enough times as an adult, would drive me crazy.

that's from a completely asexual point of view. if the guy just wants to fuck a 16 year old girl, well.. i'm 20 right. i have seen some bad ass 16 year olds if i do dare say so. doesn't mean i'd involve myself with them romantically, but if the opportunity for casual sex presented itself... no comment.

on these grounds i voted "yes", if my daughter was involved with a guy my age or older, i'd be angry too. and i don't even have children so god knows how angry it would actually make me when/if i get there.

I agree with _carmi. Most girls today skip school without their parents knowing. Go around and live with their boyfriends or friends somewhere else and just fucking do drugs and have no direction in their lives. Sad.

There really is no problem. There's the ethical question, considering a 22 year old would know pretty well how to manipulate a 16 year old, and can take advantage of their excitement with adulthood and the perks that come with it.

I am speaking about relationships now by the way. When it comes to sex, there's the same ethical question, as well as the social factor; that fucking a sixteen year old girl may or may not say something about what you can or can't get, which might instill shame in a male. I go by face factor. If she's hot, i might, if she looks too much like a kid i wouldn't. She has to look older than her age. Speaking of which I played pool with a girl the other day, fairly hot blonde, she said it was her 18th birthday and I was like okay, nice, then it turned out she was 15. I seriously would never have guessed and still can't believe it, even from the way she behaved. Oh well. I might've hit it, no one will ever know.
