afeni is mostly concerned with the tasf and charitible events. it's understandable that she doesn't know hip hop inside and out, as would needed to be the ideal music creative director. unfortunately most of us on this board would do a better job than those in charge at the moment.

If Afeni don't know shit about hip-hop what made her think Dina LaPolt did?????

Yaasmyn Fula was his manager, she should have had a say over some of his music...especially being her son was pac's closest ally....not to mention her and Afeni were closer than fuck about 20 years ago.

Unfortunately, you all have to come to the terms with the fact that pac's music will never be released in a way you would all deem right.

Not to be negative but could someone please show me one instance of a petition regarding this mans work ever resulting in something? I mean beyond people on msg boards saying fuck afeni bla bla.

peace

The music business is shady. Tupac spoke on this in his music. Fake friends is another thing he spoke on, too. You gotta feel sorry for Afeni in this situation, since she has no knowledge of how the Music business works, and would put it in the hands of someone who sounds like they have the best interests for it. I'm sure she does want the best for Tupac's legacy, but how does she know one person attempting to take advantage of it from another?

Very unfortunate.

So what is Amaru then - a bunch of people who knows nothing about Pac, doing whatever they want. Damn...Get real producers, and mixers. I can't believe Afeni is not aware of what happens, I think she is one of the people 2 blame. I'm feeling respect towards her also, but it's not right. God damn if the last album will be the next dissapointment, there were too many.....

but damn, Afeni fought for rights to these tracks, and now it looks like she can`t do nothing with them, so why was taht fight for ?? at least DR would release em in better form than amaru does now, and oh is it so hard to come here and see what fans want ??? since i know they all aware of this boards ...

i try 2 understand... why they fuck up the pac albums...

they know what we want, and surely... knowing what people who will buy your album want will surely mean with out a doubt the best sales for amaru...

they couldnt be told any more bluntly what we want 2 hear

ain no one in control can represent 4 pac in the right way... they fuccin it up real good...

but who can represent 4 pac... ain none of these new listeners, these fakes that love loyal 2 the game... the onyl real people that can represent 4 pac are us real pac followers, real pac listeners...

we can represent 4 what we want from the legacy, if we get dat das sumin else... and not alot we can do bout dat... but as far as reppin 4 pac, the real souljaz are emerging now, and the fakes are emerging also...

Here is something I don't get. Why Mopreme - being the closest kinsman of Pac doesn't control anything? or is he. I mean its only logical to get involved in the business at Amaru when you have an access more than anyone else.

Yes! She should let Mopreme, Shock G or Treach run the shit, then maybe some of the OG's would get released (or at least they would be produced by people who knew and worked with Pac)...

Hell no, if DR was in control of Pac's music the music would probably be promoted even worse and quietly. Deathrow would have even more stupid collaborations on Pac's stuff. It was suge's idea to begin with on that fake collabo stuff. This is why when he was out of jail and had a say in the Until the End Of Time album, you had Left Eye, Lil Mo, and other people that weren't originally on those 2pac tracks on those albums. Lord knows if Suge had the material, Petey Pablo, Ray J, and Kurupt and some new dr artists would all have garbage vocals layed down next to 2pac.

Well I've actually blasted Dina LaPolt over the IM just to find out that she is only Afeni's entertainment lawyer. That's according to her. She says she has no say regarding 2pac's music. I don't know if she was lying or not, but she says she doesn't listen to rap and know nothing about rap music. So in reality, I don't know or we may never find out who is behind the decision making on pac's posthumous works until maybe they've finished releasing his body of work.

She has some say over what samples Afeni should buy and which beats would be easier to remake...I don't understand how remaking the beat is cheaper when you STILL have to pay the original producer royalties lol.
