What did you think of the ending of it? I can't say I was disappointed because my excitement had already been killed from season 6 onwards.

I didn't expect the final season to be anything like the seasons before it. It was wrapping loosing ends up and staging big showdowns. To judge it based on previous seasons was kind of a disservice and I think it happened because some fans didn't get the ending they thought was going to happen or wanted.

I think it's a vocal minority that led the narrative of this season bring shit. It wasn't perfect and isn't free from criticism but seeing and reading g what some fans have said and done, like petitions to re-do the season, are just cringe-inducing.

I'm happy with the show. I only started watching once season 7 was released as I had previously given the show a shot in late-2011 but just wasn't feeling it at the time. Everyone else got.on board and I just caved and ended up liking it. That being said, I didn't have nearly enough time invested in this show, like eight years, as others did. Maybe having that perspective would help me see it better from their pov.

But the ending was unexpected. I was said when Dany was killed and I felt she deserved it the most, relatively speaking. No denying she had gone mad but she'd also seen a ton of shit leading up to this point compared to others.

Jon was a bitch the past season where he couldn't make an executive decision on anything. The dude just wanted to keep smashing Danny but not have to think about being tied to her actions as his queen. I'm glad he's not king.

Arya's NK-slaying a few episodes back was random and a bit irritating but she's still a badass for doing that. The NK deserved a better death, if one at all. I would've been fine with him defeating Winterfell and the ending being the NK taking over.

I think the ending kind of came and went, in hindsight. It was just meh. You can tell the show runners checked out and just wanted to move on to the next thing (Star Wars so who can really blame them $$$). It's a shame.

I think the ending choices seem dumb because they weren't really explored or explained which left a lot of people thinking "wtf?" I don't think they were necessarily bad choices, just if you out of left field some things without exploring them then they just seem like they were done for the sake of it - especially with a show like GoT.

Yes, it was rushed but season 8 wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. Though the show deviated from the books a few seasons ago, GRRM would've still had to sign some things off to say how he wanted certain things to be. You can see how things made sense even if they appeared to be random. There were elements of history repeating itself also.
