Robbie Fowler Rejoins the Reds

Manchester City's Robbie Fowler has sensationally re-signed for Liverpool.

Skysports.com reported earlier on Friday that Fowler was being strongly linked with a return to Anfield - and now the move has been completed.

Fowler has joined The Reds until the end of the season, with his City contract due to expire in the summer.

The 30-year-old bagged over 170 goals in his nine-year spell from 1992 to 2001 - and he will now get the chance to add to that tally.

The last time Fowler scored for Liverpool was a hat-trick against Leicester in October 2001 - before he signed for Leeds.

Rafa Benitez has decided the time is right to bring Fowler in, and the Spanish tactician will hope that his goalscoring expertise can rub off on the likes of Peter Crouch and Djibril Cisse - who have at times struggled to find the net on a regular basis during their time with the club.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have confirmed that Cisse was arrested earlier this week for an alleged assault on his wife Jude.

The Frenchman has picked up a subsequent caution for common assault and Benitez may now consider whether to use him for this weekend's FA Cup clash with Portsmouth.
Rafa trying to curry favour with the fans? I dunno, maybe Robbie still has what it takes to perform at that level. Cisse and Morientes haven't exactly been setting Anfield alight.

Im absolutely delighted with this news.Im a huge Liverpool fan and Fowler was my favourite player growing.Im so happy he has returned.

I know he isnt the same players and there will be doubts, but if he was in that cunt Djibril Cisse's(Cecil as we call him) position last Sunday when that ball came back across he wouldve buried it,no question. All we need now is for that fucker Cisse to fuck off back to France and im happy.Maybe if he concentrated on playing football and not his hairstyle he'd be better off.He is no liverpool player.Anyone see the pic off him out shopping in the Mirror last week. What a fairy.

They had to do something after Cisse's shitty performace against Man UTD... I mean wtf was he thinking...
Cissé sucks... All he does is shooting really hard on the net, most of the time it's not on the goal or in the goalkeeper... he's bullshit as a striker...all he has is a really powerfull shot

I think y'all forget games that Cisse played in French league. That perfomances brought him to Liverpool. Many teams wanted him back then but he gave his word to Liverpool and remains loyal despite better offers. He's just have problems to acclimate on Rafa's system, especially with rotation.
He posses more than a powerfull shot. Still, he's far better that Crouch (typical English player without technical skills). It's true that he showed almoust nothing. But, he isn't the first young striker that disappeared at the Afield. Remember Baros & Diouf? Despite most people on this thread I'm not a Liverpool fan. I'm thinking that many of you are mad because Liverpool lost from Manchester United in last minutes. And funny thing is that both, Fowler and Owen, were die-hard Everton fans but they played for Liverpool.

This move baffled me as he has taken a £15,000 a week pay cut.

As for Fowler, i don't rate him at all. In his day he used to be a great player, who know maybe he will return to form now he's back at Liverpool.

Cisse is good, but has been playing shit recenly, liverpool should sell him to man u :thumb:

Why would United want him? Ruud, Roon, Rossi, Saha, Solskjaer > Cisse

Ruud is shit!!! has been a right lazy sod recently!!

Rossi yeah he is good, but i doubt man u will ever use him to his full potential which is a shame.

Saha, can't make my mind up about him, yeah he is fast but i think he is more flukey than skillfull

He's top goalscorer in the Prem with 16 goals from 22 appearances. That's lazy? Not only is his goalscoring record phenomenal, but he doesn't get the credit he deserves in other areas. He holds up the ball well and chips in with a fair few assists. His pass to Kieran Richardson for Richardson's second goal against Wolves is a case in point.

Maybe so but that was the only decent thing he did all game. I am only on about his past couple of games, he has played shit, missing pens for example! And just basic laziness

LMAO i cant believe your actually critiscing RVN, everyone knows about his goalscoring ability but hes really underrated. He holds the ball up so well and can be effective when running at players.
