Although I agree, Barcelona were in a difficult position, people forget that Eto'o became disruptive and only had 12 months left on his contract, he was going to leave on a free and Barca had to act quick, and they acted with a panic move. Barcelona didn't 'give' Eto'o away he wanted to leave. What kind of player refuses to come on as a sub in a Champions League game? What could Barca of done? Barca didn't want him to go to another club in Spain, the only options were Man City or Italy. But Eto'o had his heart set on either France to be back 'home' as he called it, seeing as its full of African players or to Italy.
Eto'o even lauded himself to Uzbekistan for fucks sake. :| Eto'o was one of the main reasons the deal was so badly done. But because of the failure of Zlatan (still scored 22 goals and scored the winner against Madrid) Eto'o has come out smelling of roses when in actual fact it was his bad attitude that caused it.
Eto'o is the better player, but his goal return last season wasn't exactly amazing, 16 goals in over 40 games? Though you could argue he was playing as some sort of wing back at times.
