Note: During our various upgrades over the years certain interviews have been "misplaced." We are now adding them back to our archives. This interview was first published on April 19, 2002.

StreetHop.com: When you first came out you dropped on Untertainment, How did you get signed to them?

Cam'ron: I was cool with Mase, and he took me to Biggie before he passed away, I rode with Big and before he passed away he hooked me up with Un. Un signed me up.

StreetHop.com: You mentioned Mase, what was your reaction to his retirement?

Cam'ron: I was shocked ya know, I didnt speak to him before that for like a year or two anyways so I didnt know. It was all good with me.

StreetHop.com: Alright your now on Rocafella, who all do you have producing cuts for the new album?

Cam'ron: Just Blaze, D.R Period, Heatmakers, Daz Dillinger, and thats about it.

StreetHop.com: Who all is gonna be making an appearance on your album?

Cam'ron: My man Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, and everybody from the ROC.

StreetHop.com: Whens the album hitting the streets?

Cam'ron: May 14th. Its called "Come Home With Me".

StreetHop.com: Your also in a upcoming movie "Paid In Full", tell us a little bit about that.

Cam'ron: Its based on a true story about these three dudes from Harlem, about how they used to get millions of dollars hustlin. They were teenagers, I dont wanna give it away but its a thriller, a suspense, action, its everything.

StreetHop.com: You got a song out on the streets called "Ambitions As A Killah, which uses the beat for 2pac's "Ambitionz Az A Ridah" what made you wanna get spit to that beat?

Cam'ron: That beat was crazy hot, I always felt that. I always said to myself Im gonna find who did that beat and have him do it over for me, thats what I did.

StreetHop.com: Daz did that one one right?

Cam'ron: Yeah.

StreetHop.com: Will that track be on the album?

Cam'ron: Yeah, that's Daz singing on the hook.

StreetHop.com: A lot of people been taking shots at Rocafella lately, where do you stand as far as the beef goes?

Cam'ron: I told everybody on the ROC I got theyre back. Whatever they need from me, Im here.

StreetHop.com: How does this new album compare to your previous two?

Cam'ron: Its just Cam growing ya know, every album I do something diffrent but it aint no big thing. I finished my album over at Epic, they didnt like it and Dame was like they buggin so we'll take it. Epic didnt want me to leave, they begged me to stay.

StreetHop.com: If you could work with one artist, alive or dead, who would it be and why?

Cam'ron: Thats a tough one, I would say Twista, thats my favorite rapper.

StreetHop.com: Will you be appearing on any albums outside of Rocafella anytime soon?

Cam'ron: Not right now, I got my own label now, Diplomat. Its called Diplomat Entertainment and I got a artist called Juelz Santana. A diplomat album will be out September 20th and we're working on Juelz' album now. It should be out around Christmas.

StreetHop.com: "Oh Boy" is the first single off the new album, have you shot a video for that song yet or do you plan to?

Cam'ron: Yea we done it, itll be aired this week.
