steroid induced atrophy

A few months ago I had a steroid injection for allergies/asthma. I have had them plenty of times....at least once a year. This past time it didn't alleviate the symptoms so my Dr administered two more injections. One burned really bad and left a bruise. Fast forward to now....I essentially have a dent in my ass. It's sexy. I did some research (too late) and found out it eats away at the muscle and fat(?) causing the divot. I'm pretty pissed because I wasn't informed of this and its not listed as a side effect. I've had them plenty of times without side effects so I'm convinced its something they messed up.

Anyone heard of this....Jokerman? Does it heal...can it be fixed?

Most dents caused by this usually go away in about 6 months. But sometimes...they don't completely. In that case you'll want to get a matching dent on the other cheek.

Break the bank refers to something being expensive. Back to the subject at hand: my ass
My hand on yo ass? :moody:

I think that it will get back to normal after a while, but if you get it done, it will/might re-appear faster or worse next time around. =/

It looks like this (not my ass btw)

mine is a lot smaller...thank god. It's actually injection site atrophy/necrosis I think. I dunno. It happens in less than 1% of patients and it's supposed to correct itself in 6-30 months :suspicious:

...still mad.
